anyone running Autec 18" Uteca (Type U)

As a new member of a T6.1 with standard highline 16” wheels & tyres (in the last throws of a Camper conversion) T28, I have thought long and hard about replacing the Alloys and tyres and rather like Autec Uteca 18” alloy wheels gloss black with polished face:

Adding Mitchelin Cross Climate + tyres at 245/45/18 and I think drop the suspension 40mm with EIBACH lowering springs Comfort 2. Am I talking bollocks or would this set up work (clearly closing the space from the top of the tyre to the wheel arch).

A very nice looking wheel and that setup would definitely close the gap between tyres to arch a fair bit. Just bear in mind that any polished surface like those wheels needs to be well looked after and regularly cleaned with non acidic products to avoid problems with what’s known as wheel worm. Any stone chips or scuffs that might appear need to be repaired as soon as possible.

If you do go for those wheels I’m an Autec dealer and would be happy to provide a quote as a wheel and tyre package with your chosen tyres. I’m usually very competitive on wheel and tyre pricing.

I also offer suspension upgrades, but the eibach aren’t one that I offer so I can’t advise specifically on those springs. One thing to look out for when lowering a camper van by only changing the springs is that the rear end can sometimes sag a little and sit too low compared to the front because of the extra weight of the conversion.

I’m looking at these for my new T6.1 T28 swb transporter, would like to fit Mitchelin Cross climate + at 235/50/18 to them. Just not sure, it’s a nightmare trying to decide what to do
