Hello everyone,
I have a request: I am looking for the VIN number of a T6.1 transporter / caravelle with an original dedicated tachograph installed by the VW factory (7LA.957.041) - the car must have a VAA gearbox - i.e. a 7-speed DSG with a 4Motion drive - I need to equip my T6.1 caravelle to could legally tow a 2500 kg trailer - and my service somehow can't decide what wiring harness and intermediate module for the sensor I need to order - and as I found out, no one in Poland has ordered t6.1 + DSG + 4Motion + TACHO yet - of course it would be nice to it was a LHD vehicle but of course I will be grateful for info from the owner of the T6.1 DSG 4Motion with Tacho RHD version.
Kind regards

What does your engine bay weight rates sticker say?
And what sensor are you reffing to?

Vehicle TYPE 7JO
engine designation DNAA / 110kW / DSG+4motion
- I'm talking about the tachograph pulse generator - this is an element that in most trucks is placed in the gearbox to directly read the movement of the vehicle - there is no option to place such a sensor in the T6.1, so the function is taken over by a special module that generates pulses based on information from the CAN bus - it needs those parts of additional harnesses that plug into the standard installation to complete and connect my (already purchased) tachograph 7LA.957.041 to my T6.1

Hello Robert /again
And if you are asking about the weight of the vehicle - the permissible total weight is 3080kg - I have already read the regulations and I know that sometimes when going to buy goods, especially to Germany - I must have a TACHO - the weight of the vehicle set will always exceed 3.5T and having a trailer with a GVWR 2000kg - then I definitely have to use TACHO.

... I am the owner of the new T6.1 Caravell ...
Generally speaking passenger vehicles don't require tachograph.

Additionally, I expect the MAM of your trailer to be 2220kg(you have quoted 2500kg and 2000kg).
Can you confirm by posting the photo of your engine bay weight rating sticker?

Ahem... but T6.1 wiring diagram suggests "Tachograph sender -G75-" plugs into DSG gearbox - (3)

Hello Robert
thank You for the information and of course for your help - somehow the specialists at the VW service in Poznań could not find either the pulsator (sensor) in my VW caravelle T6.1 or the place where this sensor is to be placed - and three people in this service tried to help me - I will give you my VIN number WV1ZZZ7HZNH075222 (the vehicle in the Caravelle configuration has a truck homologation and also a dedicated VIN) I am asking you to check if the specified sensor is present in this particular configuration. If this is confirmed, I will ask you to indicate the markings of the harnesses to be connected in my small truck T6.1 :)
Best regards from Poznań

Hello Robert
For today I have a set of TACHO + sensor + antenna - the whole thing comes from VW Crafter /MAN TGE - so the sensor itself may not be suitable - not suitable for my T6.1
Best regards from Poznań

I know that a tacho is not required for passenger cars - but it's about moving with a trailer - sometimes I have to transport a load of heavy chain motors - so I will use a trailer with a GVW of 2500kg or 2000kg - for my T6.1 (GVWR 3080kg - a maximum GVW of a trailer with a brake is 2500kg)

Your bus can legally pull a trailer with a permissible maximum weight of 2220kg -> (5300kg − 3080kg).

Additionally, at least B+E cathegory driving licence is required.
