Anyone fitted Nutexa 8 Pot Big Brake Kit for 17” Wheels to their T6.1 or T6?

Hi, I’ve had the big brake (8 pot & 340 mm disc) kit from Nutexa for 17 “ wheels, now lying in the house for 6 months. 🤦‍♂️. (I know, I know but life has been doing its thing) Finally got a date to fit in the next few weeks.
I have T6.1 T30 with standard (ie NOT 340 mm from factory) brakes.
Simple question:
Do I need to change the back plate for the 340 mm version or is the kit a true ‘plug and play’ and will fit standard back plate.
For those interested the standard and 340 mm backplate are the same diameter it’s just the cut out and profile differ to accommodate bigger calipers from factory.
Thanks in advance.
😎

Sorry. Edit to say I had posted this question before and was told I’d probably need to change it but just looking for an answer from someone who’s ACTUALLY done the conversion, as I’m getting conflicting info.

TBF I did actually speak to them when I first bought the kit over a few weeks period when I ordered as I was one of the first to buy the kit. Janet said she thought it was NOT needed. Hence confusion and why I was hoping from reply from someone who’s actually done it in their van. In the absence of anything concrete I’ll probably buy the plates and return if not needed.

Are these fitted for "show" or for nordschleife ?
😂. Neither. (Definitely not looks anyhow as I had mine finished in satin black with black logo so they won’t stand out). Just because I find the standard brakes on the van lacking, given the weight I’m carrying. When I priced up OEM 340 calipers, new discs blah blah (and refurbing second hand calipers then having them painted) the Delta wasn’t that much so I thought why not 🤷‍♂️

So you spend approx 2 grand on big brakes ??
Spend another hundred or so on back plates , no need to guess, just get them

@Vinyl1210
At the same time as buying the new back plates, get 'em sprayed / powder coated.
The original coating (I don't want to even call it a paint finish) is pants and doesn't last 2 minutes before they go rusty.
If you've gone to the expense of biggerer & betterer flashy brakes, don't let the stone guards/back plates let 'em down.
Don't forget, these are for the grand sum of £20.00 - all in...

👍

Hi, I’ve just spoken to Alan from @Distinctive Dubs and he’s fitted some recently to a T6.1 which was running 308mm fronts and he had to do some slight trimming.

Now as the 340mm shields are bigger I’d say you should be okay.

I can check with a few more installers tomorrow and get it touch ?

Think mine were about £1300 but yes, still an investment. Following on from post above from @moomin-j , had I known they were that cheap (back plates) I’d never bothered to ask I’d just have bought some. 🤦‍♂️. I thought they were well over a £100 plus a pair. (Not sure where I got that from.) Anyhow checked online snd agree on average £30 - £35 ish a pair. So SOLD !

Thanks for advice all 👍

Mrs @moomin-j may have been in earshot when he quoted the price - all compliant with forum guidance!!!

Many thanks. Managed to get some 340 mm back plates this week. Fitting brakes at the weekend so to close the loop for others searching, I’ll post update next week. 👍
