So... a month or so ago I got in the van and under my workboot I felt something. I looked down and there was a rusty stud of threaded rod with a nut on it in the drivers footwell. Both ends of the rod were rusty and I assumed I'd somehow trod it in via my boot perhaps. I left it in the misc storage section on my dash for future reference... cause I'm like that.

Fast forward to today and when examining the dark patch of unknown wetness on my driveway I found what I assumed to be the same little stud with a nut on it... it wasn't in the damp patch so unrelated I believe, but when I looked on the dash it's a duplicate... so I have two now and am wondering if they'll continue to multiply. I haven't been under the van yet as am still upset about finding a leaking offside front damper - because I failed to clean off the damper when jacked up so it's now got a fouled seal I believe.

Any ideas what these are from?

Lol......

Er, not sure what they from?

My first thought was a cut off U Clamp?

Get some pics of the underneath if you can to see if the van is leaking.

I have had a eureka moment. They are sheared L clamps studs from my old side rails. I'm a numpty and clearly didn't tidy them all into the bin when I took the old rails off.

Thanks to you both. I also thought it was U clamps and checked previous videos of underside and when I saw the old rusty side rails it clicked. Every rusty side rail stud I tried to unbolt, sheared off. Still not sure how one ended up in the footwell though... am such a weirdo

Stand down forum - problem solved.

That was resolved too easily... You should have left the post up, unresolved, for a few days to get some interesting responses. What are we all supposed to read now?
So you guys want to play . . . . . .

It's the lower offside support bracket for the internal sparge valve. Removal of this is not only an MOT failure, it is also an offence against the Barbed Wire Act of 1847, however, the vehicle runs perfectly well without it.
