Alarm not working after flat battery - Help please..!

Hi All,

I recently ran the starter battery on my 67 plate T6 pretty flat after leaving the keys in the ignition while fitting new pads & discs. Battery doesn't seem to have any lasting issues but since then the alarm doesn't appear to be working correctly.

I initially noticed that the alarm no longer chirps while locking/arming (had previously coded this on is using OBD11). Didn't think too much of it as presumed just the re-programming had been lost due to the flat battery.

However, I use the van while I go out on the water wing-foiling. My usual process is to lock the keys inside the van while out on the water and I have a dumb key that is a blade only (no electronics) to unlock the door. This usually then sets the alarm off, I retrieve the actual keys from under the seat, switch the alarm off then we're all good.

This time though, no alarm.

So, alarm does not chirp while arming nor does it trigger while unlocking the door with a dummy key. The little red flashing light on the door by the lock pin however is flashing as you would expect while the vehicle is locked.

Anyone have any ideas what could be going on?

Thanks

You need to reset the windows pinch protection.

So the windows auto close on a single push/pull.

If you have done the windows already and it's still not working, try the BCM reset...

You're a star, thanks Dell. Very much appreciate the pointers.

P.S. Doubly owe you a beer one day, was your guide I followed while replacing the discs/[ads to Nutexa and all went perfectly.

(apart from the battery, obvs..!)

Double thumbs up...

Well be at the the camp outs this year, if you want to come say hi..

See the events section.
