Adblue range on MFD

You’re not the only one…..

Can anyone tell me what i need to to prove its been mapped out? Will any garage with a diagnostic plug in be able to tell or is it somthing more specialised. Atleast then i have proof to show the seller of the van

I would go to the seller again and tell them you are considering rejecting it if they don’t initiate an investigation at their cost. Tell them you are talking to trading standards too.
Outside of that, any investigation will be at your cost.
You could try Midlands VW at Cannock for advice. They have a good reputation.

Thanks Pete, appreciate the advice!

If it’s under warranty can you not take it back and say the Adblue counter isn’t working and they need to fix it?
Thats what im going to do i have spolen to them in length today. My only concern now is the potential can of worms they are about to open. No knowing the previous history its hard to know why it was done in the first place was the system faulty and also how how has it sat dormant for. I know alot of people would say just leave it its fine but personally id rather everything was the way it is meant to be. I have mentioned having my money back, that may be the option. Me not having much knowledge on the subject its hard to know what the right thing to do is

If its mapped out then just leave it alone and drive the van & just enjoy it.

hi all,

have read a few posts from people with this warning but wondered what advice could be given to my situatio. I have a 102 pendle mapped t6 camper and we set off yesterday on holiday which involved around 280 miles. About halfway there which had mostly been motorway 66 mph cruise control the Adblue error warning flashed up on screen saying 650 miles (was reading 3500 earlier on the journey after filling the Adblue at Christmas time). Never seen this before so chose to pull off the m1 and find a garage that sold Adblue. Bought 5l and it took around 4l to fill it. Tried normal ignition only for 30 seconds but message remained!

as luck would have it an aa man was at the same garage dealing with another breakdown so asked him advice as we are with the aa but he suggested it would probably need vw to reset as if it was a fault then his gear could clear it but it would return, bugger. Anyway tried a vw commercial that was 20 mins away on the phone but no service engineers work on a saturday so he said he couldn’t help. With that the aa man came across to see me having finished with his other call. Connected his reader and confirmed a fault he said to do with catalytic converter for the Adblu? He cleared it but the message remained even though he said he could see the computer was telling him the Adblue had 4500 range?

he suggested we go back onto m1 and travel to next services around 10 miles south and he would follow to see if message cleared. About a mile from services it jumped up to 4500 miles and message disappeare! He put his reader back on and no errors. With this he suggested we carry onto our destinatio. We thanked him and after a quick break headed back off. With around 100 miles left the bloody message reappeared! Strangely though after counting down from 650 to 600 it then cleared itself and went back to 4500 again for the remainder of the journey.

Any clues as to what to do as currently 300 miles from home and not sure if error will reappea? Not sure why it cleared itself either. It is the furthest we have driven it since getting it and also first time I have actually filled the diesel tank.

Many thanks for a quick reply. After reading some of the issues and costs involved with Adblue errors I was getting a tad concerned. Bloody annoying to happen on our first big holiday of the year! Hopefully be ok to get home without a breakdown? Also got paranoid it might be cruise control related as it happened both times whilst it was on so the wife told me not to use it on the way back to see.

Providing there are no issues with the parts in the system, there are software updates than can resolve this. Either via a dealership or independent specialist will be able to resolve. This is assuming that it hasn't already had the updates and there are no other issues.

Got home ok today, took it easy and the 300 miles took nearly 7 hours with stops. No warning lights but when home I got my Carista out and the 2 faults regarding Adblue have reappeared☹️. At least something for the garage to diagnose!

Afternoon all. I’ve just bought a 2018 T6 (150 DSG). I’m trying to check the Adblue level/range, but for the life of me, I can’t find it on the MFD. I’ve got almost everything else, but not that !
I’ve tried searching, but no luck so far, so any help would be very much appreciated !

Cheers,
Stu

You may not have all driving data displays switch on in the MFD menu , you can check / uncheck the box for the relevant displays so they either are or are not displayed in the MFD

MFD main menu

if you still can’t work it out post here and I’ll help out

I’ve gone through the data display, even unticked some as I thought there may be a limit on the amount that could be displayed, but the Adblue option isn’t showing at all, it’s twisting my melon man !
