Adblue quality Vs price, is it all the same?

I always try and leave the packaging with the supplier (they supplied it their problem to dispose!) filled up at b&q and left the waste with them (they had recycling bins in the car park although not actually big enough to take the bottle it was left next to it)
I do that with e-waste… Currys give you a voucher if you drop stuff with them. Used to be £5 off now it’s £10! Even an old LED bulb gets you a voucher.

Approx’ £0.45 / L for bulk supply for marine / offshore.

Just read recent messages on Adblue and first top up.

I've just just put in 20 lites of Adblue 22241
rather than 22241-1 to my 2021 T6.1. Next you up 17500 miles. No warning messages.

Do I need to syphon off and put in correct Adblue?

I don't want a big bill for SCR issues.

No!
22241 is the parent document covering the spec of adblue
Part 1, I.e 22241-1 is the actual chemical spec of adblue ALL 22241 adblue meets this spec whether it’s labelled 22241 or 22241-1
The overall 22241 spec is divided into various sections.
-1 covers the actual composition
-2 covers the testing methods to ensure composition and quality
-3 covers transport and storage
-4 standardises the filling methods

Don’t overthink it.

Glad you posted that, I was heading in the right direction and coming to the same conclusion (that the -1 wasn't important).

AdBlue is about one third urea and two thirds de-ionized water. Nothing else as far as I’m aware. It’s not a complex mix so I imagine any half decent supplier could do it. Buy it from a reputable shop and you should be good.

Adblue is a registered trademark. To be labelled “AdBlue” whatever is in the container/pump must comply with ISO22241-1, the spec doesn’t allow for variations in quality or composition. Adblue is AdBlue is AdBlue, regardless of where you get it from or who makes it. It’s all exactly the same stuff.

But does it all taste the same?
