Intermittent instrument cluster issue

T5 Sport 2008 - I have a fault that causes my instrument cluster to flash on and off, resetting my clock, current mileage distance etc. I have asked local garage to check this during service and mot but they said they could not get the fault to occur. My screen has a wiper sensor. This fault occurs when I turn the wipers and lights on. Usually a few times and then stops. Sometimes not at all. The garage said it is likely a faulty instrument cluster, but I don’t think it is. Why would this only occur when the wipers are are on first setting and with the side lights on? Any advice much appreciated.

Hi Kev. No solution found yet. One garage said it will likely need a replacement instrument cluster. My main garage is going to look at it at my next MOT/Service in October. Do you have a wiper sensor?

Yep. It only happens when I use the wipers. Not every time though. Just trying to upload a video .

I can't see a video. The reason I asked is that one garage thinks it could be the wiper sensor wiring that is interrupting the cluster
