ACC ‘Not Activated’

Driving down the motorway today, tried to switch on the ACC and got a message on the screen ‘ACC not activated’ not had it before and always use it, anyone any idea what it might be.
Not aware that I have changed anything and have pressed all the ACC buttons on the steering wheel

Are you sure the on/off button is working on the steering wheel?

There is a button to switch it on first. Up right on a steering wheel module. When you press it it will indicate ACC activated.
