A month or so away in Germany

Fantastic photos! Any campsite recommendations? Just booked our Eurotunnel - doing 3 weeks, France > Italy > Germany/Black forest area. We’ll have the dogs with us though so looking for dog friendly sites but we can’t wait!
Sorry, can’t recommend camp sites as we’ve not used them.

What I can recommend is that you try the ‘Park for the night’ app.
It lists campsites, campervan stops (these are called Stelplatz‘s in Germany and Aires in France), and roadside stops.

Not only have we used it extensively at home and this trip, but the motorhomers we talk to here in Germany all use it too.

@Oldrat - your pics of your trip through Germany are simply fantastic and a great advertisement for the country. I have often argued at home that we should visit and your pics are helping!

And onto Cologne, which has now become one of my favourite cities
First a suitable (for me) cable car over the Rhine during which I was able to study the particularly amazing crazy paving beneath which is well worth inspection
;)

And then a cycle into the city centre. over the famous iron bridge and covered wall to wall in millions of padlocks..

But the stand out feature of Cologne is the Cathredral., I’ve seen many on my travels, but this is one of the most impressive just for the sheer scale of the thing, it’s amazing. The pics do not do it justice at all.

So far we’ve planned four days in Luxembourg as we have a concert to go to So we might take two days out now and go down the Moselle Valley (thanks for your suggestion) then back up to Luxembourg for the concert.

Then onto Karlsruhe (daughter went to uni there) … then down to Black Forest to see the Cuckoo clocks before heading over to Bavaria then down to Innsbruck and Neiderau valley (been there before) then we’ll head west through Austria and onto Switzerland before heading home.
Don’t be tempted to buy the world’s most expensive cuckoo clock. It’s hideous

Fantastic!
We will shortly be embarking on an adventure to Germany doing the Romantic Route over 11 days,
Can anyone suggest where to stop over for a night after our tunnel crossing from Calais say a max of 2.5 to 3 hrs drive away and where to stopover on route to Würzburg the start of the romantic road, the same being true for the return leg of the trip, fingers crossed someone can help us?
