5 Speed vs 6 Speed on 150ps

Thats what i am thinking, but its interesting that paid car checks are coming with it as 150bhp as well?

Well yeah it pretty much said it 'could' exist but shouldnt in a way!

If we can get a VIN number I can do some checks, I accept it’s possible but all brochures and price lists I have ever seen only offer 6 speed or DSG from 150 and upwards

It’s not unheard of for vehicle details to be inserted incorrectly on initial registration then will show wrongly on any checks

Ok so, i noticed on the car check i did, its engine code starts with CXHC.... that means its the 110, right?

Confirmed - its CXHC, so 110 hp

Shame, everything else was perfect and a great price! Think i will wait for a 150bp DSG

I’m more than happy with the power on my 102 T6 but if there’s one thing I’d change on the van it’s the 5 speed box, had it for 5 years now and still occasionally try to put it in 6th!

Im fine with my 110.

Some people are happy with a 110, some people get jolly upset at the thought. In my case I have a Hyabusa and struggled to tell much between the 110 and 150 having ridden there with 196 BHP between my legs (the bike, not my loins!), but you may feel differently if youre accustomed to more pedestrian performance.

Best to try one yourself- youll either like it or you wont, and theres only one way to find out...and van shopping is fun!

They can take sensible maps to get the power up as long as the torque is fed in and it’s not done by idiots chasing numbers

102 is enough for me and ours is a camper but as has been said, you should try them and see for yourself

Always best to buy what you really want in the first place tho'.

Yes you can map a 110 to be close to a 150, but if you have a 150, you can go that bit more if you want to.

My van’s a 102 5 speed with a davtec remap - not sure what it’s gone up to with the remap but it’s powerful enough for my needs even as a fully loaded campervan.

Wow, all you guys with F1 engines in your vans! I'm running around with 84 horses in mine, full camper incl pop top. Yes, It's slow but to be honest when your trundling around looking at nice scenery having a nice relaxing drive after a long week at work it's perfect.

Motorways, legal limit it sits at all day long, private motorways it will still go to figures way over its power output. Overtaking on country roads, forget it. I leave that fun for the tesla.

Like others have said, you need to drive a few and see what you think. We all have different expectations and uses for the vans, you just need to work out what your needs are

OP is used to driving an Audi, so there's a high probability of a need for speed.
