5-seat To 6-seat And Back Again?

I love the look of a 5-seat Transporter but occasionally have the need for 6-seats 2-3 times a year. Would it be possible to buy a second-hand dual passenger seat and swap it at will whenever required?

Dual seat is held in by 8 nuts, single seat by 4, so not a massive job to swap. Tho you might have holes in the carpet when single seat fitted

Depends what van you start with, if it's a single seat, then the captive nuts for the studs aren't there (but not that difficult to sort out) and I believe vans with single seats as standard have a smaller airbag...

Ok thanks for that, the van is a factory Kombi, Highline with a single seat from new I believe. It has the comfort dash with the wide centre console so leg room will be limited for whoever gets the middle seat.

My mother-in-law only has little legs, a smaller airbag might be a good thing
