There is another similar thread running on this subject, which I have been following, and it seems that VW recommend the belt be changed at 4 years old. My camper has only done 12000 miles and I am really agonising if I should get it done or not.
A quick google says belt change (including water pump) circa £470.00 plus the service and MOT costs.

If that is for the 3rd service. (Small interim)
Interim service - £145+vat (oil/filter/Health check)
And timing belt and water pump (120k or 4years) @ £475+vat
So sound about right.
You could refuse the cambelt change due to low millage, but VW recoment a 4year change, and if you dont do it now and it breaks in next month it could destroy the engine..... or at best cost way more than the price of a belt change.
So phone around and see if a local VW independent can do it cheaper if your out of warranty.
Or just let vw do it.
