Looking for a bit of advice.
Background is, I've owned my 2016 T6 Highline since 2020. Bought it as a partially completed conversion and had all the gas and electrics completed by a professional. At the time I didn't want a pop top as I wanted the extra storage of a roof box, etc. This year I removed the rock n roll, in order to replace it with a new rock n roll or RIB bed. I also swapped out the bench swivel seat for a captain's seat with a plan to add swivel base (mainly for comfort and better access to the rear).
The van has been great to be honest and has done many trips around Scotland and the Outer Hebrides. I've had it serviced annually and it typically only does longer journeys at weekends and trips away. It isn't a daily driver as I don't commute.
Timing belt and water pump have been replaced in the last couple of years. I've recently replaced the rear shocks, aux belt and tensioner and egr pipe. I performed a full 3 stage underseal this summer - messy but wanted peace of mind the van would remain in good condition for many years. It gets washed regularly and has been well looked after. It drives like a dream and feels like it's in a good place to either sell or upgrade with pop top/ new bed/seats.
My issue is I now need a 4 berth. I reckon if I spent £5k on it I could fit it out with a good spec pop top and rock n roll. About £6-6.5k with the RIB bed.
The alternative is sell it (either as is or with rock and roll) as a 2 berth and buy a new 4 berth camper. Thinking 2019 T6 ideally - not convinced I need or want a T6.1.
What would you do in my position? Stick or twist? Money is a big factor as I don't have a ton to spend, so depends what I could sell/ buy for.
I have no idea what the van is worth in 2025, assuming it is fitted out with a new rock and roll, bench seat swivel or captain with swivel. Any insight into value would be very helpful.
