Stick or twist ?

So, reaching a dilemma in the next few months as to whether I continue with my T6 adventure.
I'm due a knee replacement shortly and recovery and physio is around 9 months I'm told. Last few week my other bloody knee is starting to give me some issues too so I'm going to start looking to get into the NHS queue for that one too. That gives me probably 2 years before I'm fully restored.
Although the T6 is probably the most comfortable van to drive with my dodgy knees, I'm not sure the camping lark will suit my recovery.
So, do I sell now and see how things go in the next couple of years or do I mothball it ?
I'm also drawn towards a Buzz strangely....

Is knee #2 giving issues due to compensating for knee #1? I realise that's a bit of an imponderable question, but just wondering if #2 will resolve itself once #1 sorted.

I'm in the same boat as you, had my pre op and signed consent forms, left knee replacement due imminently (already had 3 operations on that knee)
We've not committed to going away this year as it will be sods law that I'll get the call up.
The constant weight bearing over the years has put a lot of stress on the right knee (1 operation on that one) so I'm now waiting to see the consultant again to see where I am with that one.
I'm just going to take a sabbatical for this year and see what happens.

Moral of the story, don't play rugby kids.

The success of knee and hip replacement surgeries is directly related to using the new joint as soon as possible after surgery. They’ll have you on your feet and using it within hours, even if you just want a post-op sleep.

Rather than “stick or twist” pivot the decision to “stick or go harder” - embrace the rejuvenated joint. Do the things it has been holding you back from doing!

My Mum 83 and had her knee done last year. I was surprised how quickly she returned to some kind of normality.

A distinct possibility but I wouldn't be surprised if its the same wear and tear issue

I'll add, don't take up running in your late 40's, run marathons, do police fitness tests....

if its not your left knee you maybe ok

If you want the IdBuzz you can justify it with some bolleaux about needing an automatic to save your new knee... actually that might be the case but equally a side effect of the operation might be you now need to drive something like a Transporter but smoother, better handling, quieter and you can top up with fuel at home.
I've almost given up my IdBuzz dream after her in drawers threatened to stop my pocket money if I kept going on about one... doesn't know about my bookmarked Silence S01 scooter.
