Hi
Can anyone recommend a 2000w inverter or similar to run a coffee machine.
A decent one but not too crazy money.
Thanks

I did a bit of research on this last year and spoke to a very helpful guy at Offgrid Campers… thought I had it sorted.. but then looked into solar generators and went that direction instead. Bit more expensive but so much more versatile. I have a small Nespresso and an Ecoflow Delta now.

Can't help you with the inverter, but what leisure battery will be powering it ?

Use this to power my sage barrister.

Run this from 2 100ah lithium’s. And this triple charger.

FYI.

We’ve just done exactly this for a customer for his coffee machine and charging his power tools. DM me for a reminder and I’ll dig out and send the details of the one we used. Works perfectly.

I’m puzzled as to why after 600 years of coffee drinking mankind now needs a machine to make it.

I also use an NDS 1500W PSW to run a Nespresso machine. I started with a 2000W MSW (modified sine wave), but this was not compatible with the electronics of the Nespresso machine (or my standard DeLonghi one). A pure sine wave inverter is so expensive that I wouldn’t have bothered, but all the wiring was already there (& paid for).

Yup, we have a £10 Italian moka pot that sits on the gas hob. Makes superb coffee.

I had a moka pot once, it did make lovely coffee but it also had a tendency to fire scalding hot coffee across the room if you didn’t quite do it up tight enough.

I’m also never quite brave enough to use my aeropress in the van (kids!) so we end up using a cafetière.

I’m completely mystified by nespresso machines, we had one at work and all of the different capsules I tried were pretty nasty. Shocking for waste too.

Nespresso claim their pods are fully recycled. It’s just up to the user to return them. We always do, naturally!

installed this under the drivers seat, cable upgrade was a bit of a minefield as potentially a huge amount of amps could be pulled by the inverter (177amp).
the charger and plug is for ehu if required.

Had an off grid weekend trial of the system, at Riverside Stratford, least of grid place we’ve been as there was ehu next to the van, but we didn’t plug in and everything worked perfectly.
ran 1000w kettle, 6amps used per boil, not that I was checking, and solar recovered that in a hour or so.

Hi,
I have a 12v system in my T6, with a cigarette plug which is powered by the leisure battery, I plugged a small inverter (300w) into it and it will not work even though the power is just over 12v, inverter works in the main van cigarette plug to the engine. Not sure why it doesn’t work?
Any ideas

Blown fuse for the socket?
