17” alloy wheels on standard LWB T6.1

I would like to put some 17 x 8 5/120 35 offset wheels with 225x 65 17 tires on a standard LWB T6.1 tdi340 van
These wheels are supplied by a kombi upgrade supplier in Australia they say they will fit but I’ve also inquired at 3 different large tyre retailers and they all have said these would not fit or would not comply
Has anyone fitted similar size wheels and tyres on a standard T6.1 van?

By my calculations they "should" be OK.

In terms of compliance her in NZ diameter is not allowed to be more than 5% of OEM size, with OEM for 17 inch wheels is 235/55x17.
It looks like the 225/65x 17 will just squeak in to that compliance.

However, I have some 17 inch alloys from an Amarok that interfered with the brake calipers, so couldn't be used without spacers, so a bit of a minefield.

Note also that any rim/tyre also needs to comply with load ratings for the vehicle.

On the door pillar it provides the OEM tyre sizes, and the closest to the wheel you are looking at is 17" if the same as mine?

I don't know what you have in Australia but in New Zealand if you want to go over by more than 5% then you need to get a "low volume modification certificate" This costs lots, and is not worth it unless you are doing a lot of modifications.
Looking at what people are doing in the UK, I assume no such issues?
