16 then. Not bothered about looks, only the drive and replacement costs.
Could get a whole set of delivery mile 16 inch alloys and tyres for the price of one 20 inch tyre
Only 16 or 20 on offer…18s are a good compromise. (Comfort, looks, price,)
Around £100 per tyre for a mid range budget.
No idea. Collecting from Cambridge Campervans this week. What tyres are going on? 20s can be pricy for boots and you definitely dont want Nang Tang Woosong bakelite specials. They'd be generous indeed to throw in a glands worth of quality rubber on top of rhe wheels.
16s would highly likely be the OEM 105/107C rated commercial tyres. All the vans I see arrive at that place have factory Claytons on. I drive past it nearly every dayNo idea. Collecting from Cambridge Campervans this week.
Can’t beat a set of ChingLings to get you through the MOTWhat tyres are going on? 20s can be pricy for boots and you definitely dont want Nang Tang Woosong bakelite specials. They'd be generous indeed to throw in a glands worth of quality rubber on top of rhe wheels.
If you aren’t bothered by looks etc, it seems a bit weird you are going for a VW in the first placeAbout to collect campervan. Been offered 16 or 20 inch alloys as steel 16 not available.
Which size gives best drive and value and best for tyre replacement costs?
Not bothered about looks, only the drive and replacement costs.
Not bothered about looks then go 16….will be more forgiving with some thick decent rubber and obviously a cheaper to replace the tyres when needed.About to collect campervan. Been offered 16 or 20 inch alloys as steel 16 not available.

What he said. Take the 20's, sell them and buy a set of delivery mileage Devonports.20s. Then sell them as soon as you get it home.
But do the benefits outright the costs??There can be benefits to having larger wheels however
Im not bothered by looks. Its a van for crying out loud.If you aren’t bothered by looks etc, it seems a bit weird you are going for a VW in the first place
That would be personal preference really…. I much prefer the way my van drives with it being lowered on eibach coilovers, 20 inch wheels and the bigger golf R brakes…… but that all comes at a cost to initially fit and then maintain. So I would say yes to answer your question. But do the benefits outright the costs??
