12v plug in HVAC??

I have a t6 caravelle, just packing for our first trip and I noticed this in the back. Have they plugged a 12v plug into the HVAC?

Will this be running off of the battery when running like a normal 12v.. slightly confused how usable this is

that brown and red wire, with tessa tape looks oem to me,

as does the socket.

what van spec is it?

ie, is it a van with factory rear heating that has had a conversion fitted?

Yes mate, so used to be a 9 seater.. heating in the rear is factory. Rear 3 seats removed and it not has a conversion in the back.

I was just confused that it’s a loose hanging 12v plug that wouldn't stretch to go anywhere other than its current spot, will that be wired up to the battery or usable whilst engine is running without draining battery etc

id imaging they removed the plastic panels, including that 12v socket, and left it there?

looks factory stuff to me?

Hmm ok yeah, I’m not clued up enough to know!

Ill use it like normal and see what happens
