But we've seen them used before.

They are just a form of SLA type battery.

Similar to an AGM.

To monitor the battery or will I be able to just use the batterys own BMS app?

The battery protect comes in 2x version, the one you listed above is NOT the SMART version so will not work with the Victron app. ( Get the smart version If you want app control)

You could add the battery sensor if you wish. but I wouldn't bother. (The smart shunt will give you the same data)


But I would just stick with the Victron smart shunt ... For battery and system monitoring.

Allongside the battery own BMS and app.(eg Renogy and a bt2)
