12 v cigarette socket permanent live

12 v cigarette socket permanent live on dash I want to change this to ignition live as I’m using it for dash cam and have to plug and unplug it or it stays on with van locked I’ve located fuse in fuse box for this
Any help appreciated thanks

You will need to cut the cable, and run a new IGN feed to the socket.

Given the effort/work involved, surely it would be better to get a hard-wire kit and use a fuse tap on a switched fuse. You will need to do similar anyway to rewire the 12v socket.

On my 6.1 I went a little OTT and did a few wiring upgrades including converting all mine to ignition live (shuttle so has rear ones too). ALL of this is independent of the VW wiring, if I undo the ignition trigger from fusebox, an earth and a perm live it is completely isolated. I did it that way as i was having battery issues and you know how VW can be in warranty situations

I add the dash cam feed using a IGN On supply through a fuse from the fuse box under the steering, just below the 25A fuse( which is a blank but fed from IGN). see pictures hope this is any help.
