110 5gears

It's a tricky one. Mines a 150 and I have a suspicion the previous owner had it tuned/remapped as if i put my foot down she goes faster alarmingly quick. I never use it though. I don't wanna rearrange the contents of the rear of the van with my foot and i couldn't give a 5h1t about the other guy trying to dominate the road. As others say quite rightly it's wants over needs.

My only caveat with a 110 is long uphill stretches. I have no experience with them but i have seen clips on youtube of a partially laden one struggling to maintain 70 on uphill stretches and also not having any additional beans to overtake a lorry - perhaps an engine fault.

Anyway, i tend to drive between 55mph and 65mph as a rule on motorways so maybe my testimony is void on this.

I was managing 1:6 low gear twisty hill climbs in Cheshire at the weekend with a full conversion and four adults aboard and lived to tell the tale. It wasn't any more onerous than doing the same in any of the normal hatchbacks we've owned over the years and no one gets their knickers in a twist that a 1.6 Astra might be in some way terrifying to drive.

Ditto pinned it to 70 on the motorway coming home with zero difficulty and I know from experience it happily goes well beyond that - if you've seen a video of one struggling it was either unwell or restricted.

Tales of woe, pestilence or sexual dysfunction as a result of driving a 110 are all absolute nonsense.

Provided it's working properly and not as worn out and tired as a junior doctor theyre as completely normal and unremarkable to drive as a car with a modest engine would be.
