Big service quote, am I being ripped off?

Their guidance on the cambelt is out of date…..ask them to doublecheck with VW!

Engine whining noise - what is it?

Not sure about always, but it is certainly the most common cause assuming your symptoms are the same. I guess it could also be the cambelt tensioner too.

Advice needed VW dealer. Cambelt dilemma..

Hi all. I've just purchased a T6 from a VW branch. 2017, 33k miles. Highline I wanted to get a cambelt as part of the purchase, as I am still on the mindset of 5 years.. they will offer a cambelt change for £599 instead of the £699. I could go a local garage and I think they would charge...

80k miles / looking to buy / cambelt?

So if you were in my shoes would you expect a 80k mileage van to have that done or to be done as part of the purchase? Just working out if I was asking the earth or not!

Unless you are sick of looking, I'd walk away unless he at least offers something towards the belt being done.

Is it worth getting a poptop installed in a high mileage van?

...interested, it's been quite a rollercoaster so far 😂 The belt that snapped- which I was relieved was the alternator belt and not the cambelt- got jammed into the cambelt and, well you can guess the rest... 😭 But the sob story ends there as I have a lovely 'new' t5.1, 2015 only 61k miles on...

    Garage Invoice Charging

Surely the amount they are charging would be noticeable, what i mean is yearly stuff like service & MOT is normally a few hundred quid but add a cambelt and waterpump to that and your into 4 figure sums !!

Found a van - Could this be the one?

Cambelt change now advised by VW at 120K, search on here and you'll find lots of info. This brings UK into line with European practice, although should be qualified by regular inspections.
