so i can unlock it ... But i cant open the barn door with the electrical switch in the barn door. The first time it needs to be opened from the outside first in order to function after (the...
I hope someone can help. I have yet another issue with my new (to me) van.
It is a t6.1.
Central locking on both the remote and the key opened and locked all doors when I bought it. Now when I open the van the passenger door does not seem unlock allowing me to open from the outside. However if...
Took my van in earlier in the week for the safety recall on the Bowden cables. On my return home and locking the van for the first time I immediately noticed it sounded very different from before on locking. I suspected that the deadlocks on the VW safe lock system weren’t kicking in. I asked...
Does that mean you only engaged the diff lock in one instance? That's reassuring to know if that's the case, would you share the training information with me, as I also think I really need to learn, So Im best prepared and also can get a clearer picture of her capabilities and how I need to take...
Hi and thanks for all the replies. My van definitely has an alarm and the standard VW Group remote. It has volumetric sensors which look like an afterthought. Trouble is its a Danbury camper van conversion so may have started with an unusual spec and had extras added. And I can't ask them what...
Hi all,
Need a bit of advice regarding the central locking and alarm on my 2015 T6 Highline panel van (140 6 speed).
Yesterday I went to lock my van and noticed it wasn't lockingfrom the fob. I thought it was the battery in the fob first of all, but when i went to locked via the key the...
Van is plugged into mains and using Victron charger plugged into a mains socket inside the van. Was hoping to then charge through one of the cigarette sockets.
Yep thats what im trying to do.
Yep both internal cigarette sockets cut out after 1 hour.
Time has come to sell our van!
I bought her with 94k miles and I’ve owned her just over 1 year. In that time have covered around 9k miles which have mostly been motorway.
Van was professionally converted in summer 2021 and I picked it up in Jan 2023. Its had minimal usage as a camper as it...
Hi all,
Used to own a 2006 t5 and converted it myself. Sold it years ago for a modest profit due to a change in circumstances. Still have brilliant memories of it. So, was hankering after a t5.1. As you do, I've just been browsing various classifieds.
A 2016 66 reg ex Rac van with 200,000...
@JOG not sure if you’ve tried the Brandup tailgate bar? It provides very effective convection flow when used with the cracked open cab windows.
It’s a PITA to use but I’ve found a simple and cheap method of engaging it first time every time.
See below.

Read through this thread and managed to get my mirrors folding by given a long press of the lock button after the coding changes .. So much easier than remembering to do it frominside the van! Surprised I've actually got the right modules for a change! Cheers
Thought I'd share what I've done on my van this weekend. I bought a van shade window pod thing for my sliding door and have put some pockets in. Cut out most of the wood etc on my CNC then cut some holes, stuck on some carpet and screwed it all together. Mistakes have been made, but it's such an...
** Price reduced to £29k **
I have finally come to the sad decision to sell my van. I bought it new in December 2017, and so it is one owner from new. I ticked nearly every box when I ordered it, so it is very high spec. Still under extended warranty with VW for another 12 months (service...
I can vouch for that when I got locked in my van. No way to get out from the inside unless you smash a window.
I never knew that @Loz. I will try that when the replacement interior sensor arrives as one of mine has failed. Expensive fix sadly.
This is my own company van bought new from Cordwallis Heathrow May 2017. It has had a full service history mainly from Cordwallis and has had the 12V battery, Glow Plugs and EGR (warranty replaced by Cordwallis) and Tyres and Front Pads replaced. It is still on an extended warranty until Jan...
