Hi all, I know this has been covered a few times on here but just after a bit of advice.
Took my van in for a glow plug change and they noticed the Egrpipe between Egr and manifold (which I’m pretty sure is the rear) has split. They’ve quoted me £392.86 to change it, does this seem...
So... its in the VW Centre and they have identified that the ECM software needs updating, also the rear EGRpipe has a split in it, this seems to be a common fault at 70,000 miles which is exactly right for mine. They suggest replacing the EGRpipe, conduct software update and hope that sorts...
Hi all. I have a leak of some sort on my 2017 T6. I think it is a coolant leak somewhere in the system bit so far 2 separate garages havent been able to locate the source of the leak. I'll add some pictures.
I think that when the van is at running temperature, there is a small leak coming from...
I want to check for a leak on the front EGRpipe which I know are prone to splitting where it goes into the throttle valve.
I have smoke tested the inlet so wasn’t sure if it would make it all the way around to the EGRpipe work without having to do anything to open the EGR or throttle.
Right, the cursed van is at it again... After spending the last week tidying up various leaks and stains with the trusty brake cleaner to find the sources, I have ran into another issue....
I noticed one of the bolts behind the EGRpipe(?) was soaked in oil. I thought right away that the joint...
Also failed it on rear egrpipesplit open ,which was replaced on warranty work 18months ago ,I've took the pipe off myself and nothing up with it looks brand new ,they kept pushing me to have it replaced at £290
Have a Search on EGRpipe, the splitpipe that you have has been superceded with a better design.
If you have the correct tools and ability there is no reason why you can’t renew it yourself.
A common one on these is the rear EGR hard pipesplitting. That can cause underboost faults, poor pull and limp mode, and it often gets mistaken for a turbo issue. Usually you can feel it if you get someone to rev it while you reach down the back of the engine, so I’d be checking that, boost...
Hi all,
I have developed a bad smell of diesel & bad eggs while driving my T6.
I've checked the EGR flexible pipe for cracks/splits all ok.
Any information appreciated
Thanks Dave
New rear EGRpipe after mine had split suprise suprise. Usual hissing and fumes smell as the tell tale sign. Front had already been done by the RAC when that went last year at the side of the road.
I’m not sure - the VW garage just confirmed mine was suitable for upgraded software. For anyone interested, I actually managed to fix the problem without needing VW. Once I replaced the EGRpipe (£49 EBay), I used a cheap code reader to clear the faults on the EMS. I took off the AdBlue...
Mine same a couple of weeks ago with service and MOT - failed for splitEGRpipe - MOT description said putting exhaust fumes in cab - so I’m glad they spotted it - I thought it was just doing a regen as did a lot of them before as short journeys then a few longer - funny now does not do as many!
My 2018 150 DSG, 63k is at my local VW indie with a squeaky aux belt, they've just called to say the front and back EGRpipes are split and need replacing which has in turn damaged the aux belt with the leaking dirty exhaust gases (aux belt was only 6 months, 4k old). I'll suck up the £525...
Hi all, I had a PO46C00 fault code on my VW T6 102 67 pleate euro 6. Had some diagnostics done and EGR wasn't functioning and rear flexi pipe had split. Replaced the EGR unit, intercooler and pipe. Van drove well for about a mile and the light has come back on the dash with a loss of power...

I'm not saying that this is certain to be your problem, but it might be a split that you can't easily see.
Let us know how you get on.
Yeah, there's no sign of any leaks, I've been pointed towards a possible split hose on the EGR valve (which they replaced)... pollen filter was replaced yes.
