Hi all, my T6 has recently started leaking oil from around the area of the crankshaft pulley. Someone told me it could be the oil seal or a different cause like a couple of loose bolts somewhere above. It only actually leaks when it is running but it collects in the engine tray and is quite a...
Lost fluid would give you a low bite. High bite could well be the clutch on its last legs. Has it always been a high bite??
Oil leak is probably frontcrankshaftoilseal. Pull the upper timing cover off and look for oil contamination on the belt. If it's ok, then just monitor it

Shock absorbers advisory seems fairly common now (and misting is normal).
I understand it will not fail MOT until fluid is dripping onto the floor.

Nearside Front Shock absorbers has light misting of oilOil leak, but not excessive Frontcrankshaftoilseal.
The current owner has said that they have not had these fixed.
How worried should i be about these. The van has <40k miles on it at the moment...

I gave it a clean up but still not sure where it is coming from, I'm thinking either clutch seal side or the front of sump join.
I guess if I dropped the sump and could re-seal and then also see if oil is coming from the crankshaftoil seal as the sump removal exposes some of the flywheel area...
The front sealing flange for the crankshaft on CX** engines is a common problem - oil leak starts around 100-120k km. When changing cambelt kit - ask to get the sealing flange changed as well. It won't add much labor as most of the necessary parts will be removed anyway.
CXGB is your engine...
All of the Volkswagen T6 diesel engines. (And previous engines I'd imagine but I'd have to check)
But before you get excited no it's not the timing belt ie the Ford wet belt issues.
This is the oil pump drive belt that's fed from the sump.
You can see it in the video clips above it's behind...
not sure about the rest yet . .

but that oil maybe from the front main crankshaft seal?

Already posted a review for Fife Autotech but needs an update. Whilst checking the front suspension noticed oil on the right side of the engine. With only 10 days to our ferry booking took the van to Fife Autotech who diagnosed a leaking crankshaftoil seal (surprise, surprise) but also a leak...
FWIW . . .
I've had both changed under warranty,
front lower engine mount and front main crankshaftoil seal,
and EGR+cooler, and EGR rear pipe
plus a DMF - twice.

...identified to be coming from the cambelt so they've reccomended to have a new one, there is also a leak coming from the frontcrankshaftoilseal. My question to those who are mechanically savy, is this a quick job seeing as the cambelt will already be taken out, 2 birds with one stone...
Morning all,
Has anyone heard of this company based in Dagenham?
They have quoted me for a reconditioned engine including fitting for my T5.1 CFCA burning excessive oil
They are not VAT registered and take only cash or bank transfer.
The price seems good but other than, trust pilot reviews seem...
