    4 motion offside stub axle

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did tackle it and you can't get the dust seal off without lowering the final drive box. To be honest, upon closer inspection it wasn't leaking oil anyway so all is good and no movement in the stub shaft. Yeah any photos would be much appreciated

...end of August (first date they can fit a full day in) for a full service, investigate/fix oil round drive shaft, sort leaking crank pulley oil seal and do a (not needed) cam belt and water pump replacement and investigate intermittent coil light/replace oil pressure switches as necessary. Not...

    Crank shaft outer seal replacement

Hi all, Getting crank shaft outer seal replacement as leaking oil onto belts. I was told that I need to replace timing belt & tensioner. The problem I have is that I had the timing belt & tensioner replaced two years ago & have only done 2000 miles. Is this justified or am I being ripped off...

    Front crank shaft seal leaking

Just been reading some other peoples disappointments with the crank shaft seals leaking. Been too VW dealership to have my final service plan service carried out today. Bearing in mind my vehicle hasn’t long gone out of warranty coming up to four years old being told my t6 is also leaking oil on...

    recommend a warranty company

I went with the all in - it's not perfect and be careful to read the various threads around here as there are some restrictions you might not expect like the crankshaft oil seal. Having said that folks around here have had some fairly hefty repairs covered.

1st Mot passed with minor oil leak!

Had the vans 1st mot done which it passed but the tester noted a minor oil leak. After I investigated it I found the source see photo. So it is either the crankshaft seal or sump seal on the plastic part that houses the crankshaft seal or both - that's the bad news, good news is I had the mot...

T6 TDI450 boost pipe popped off

Oil in the intercooler is normal, it’s from the crankcase ventilation PCV that wasn’t separated out and any oil that has leaked past the turbocharger compressor seal. If you think the oil is excessive check how much the oil level in the crankcase has dropped. If in doubt remove the hose at the...

Looks like I’m getting recovery T6 is dead

It looks like we have one possibly two leaky injector seals 1 and 2 have a little pool of oil at their seat. The last breakdown we had was a random fault that came up fuel pressure sensor implausible signal and the lambada the same it started drinking fuel after that I’m guessing these are all...

Jeez! Thank you for your reply. It has a new gear spline set put in by a DSG specialist 6 months ago and it runs like a dream. I'm just hoping it's a seal somewhere or the transmission pan!

    Tandem pump pipe broken?

Hi there, Watch this video, different car but same pump and mentions how difficult the pipe is to remove. Probably worth replacing the pipe if it is loose as it will be causing a vacuum issue. Also if there is oil here then the seals are probably leaking inside. Good luck

    Fault code P0299 Boost - 2019 Crafter

Also tally’s up with the oil change as the new oil would be thicker so can not pass the seals as easy.

    Healthy 180 CFCA owners?

Do 2 compression tests a couple of weeks apart. Mine was showing good compression, but on the second, it was showing really poor. He thinks it was oil that must have leaked, though, and created a seal.

    Fault code P0299 Boost - 2019 Crafter

...wrong oil, maybe dirty oil, maybe fuel In oil……..? Maybe….. I’m suspicious of the fuel In oil theory as I have an oil leak from crankshaft oil seal (which I’ll address when po299 issue is resolved), the oil seems to leak and spread quickly around the oil seal and Sump , as if its viscosity...

Crank pulley not spinning exactly on axis. Slightly off?

Still the same! I’m planning on doing the crank seal slight weep of oil…timing kit and replacing the gear in case it’s a bit worn. One thing I did notice is the timing tensioner seems to move slightly not whilst running but if you check day to day it definitely shift a few mm which is a concern...

A review for Fife Autotech VW indie based in Glenrothes

...oil on the right side of the engine. With only 10 days to our ferry booking took the van to Fife Autotech who diagnosed a leaking crankshaft oil seal (surprise, surprise) but also a leak from the sump plug which had been changed at an oil service at the main dealer in April. They managed to...

Oil radiator installation. Possible troubleshooting solutions?

The beauty of the HEL unit is, you can swap the thermostat within the unit, I have a 102 fitted, and a 92 on the box in case it doesn’t cool enough for me, the inline thermostat will be mounted up near the battery so I can swap it out without dropping the oil. I made some real progress with...
