Beefing Up Your Vans Security - How I Done It -

Thanks for this, yeah I have been in two minds about a tracker more so if they are just going to get ripped out as fast as you say more so being a greedy northerner and some firms wanting anywhere from £100-189 a year or £500 for a lifetime which is better value, this on top of the tracker and...

I'm a cheapskate, a stoplock pro for me, and an S5 tracker/immobiliser to make me happier! Metatrak is potentially the most well regarded, I have a Global Telemetrics system, does the job, but Meta all the way... Makes the insurance companies happier too!

    STOLEN T6 !!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly this country is the pits. Feel your pain bud. Hopefully parked up nearby for a few days to see if it has a tracker.

Tracker needed for insurance? or needed for good price?

I'm with Comfort too. Them providing cover was contingent on me having a tracker fitted, but that was due to the value of my camper.

    T6.1 ignition delay

...Just an update on this in case anyone has similar problems. The ignition delay was due to the off market immobilizer. I contacted the tracker company and they did a " reset " and now everything is ok again. I want to thank everyone for their help and input in regards to this thread..I hope...

Reputable aftermarket security fitter - Bristol/South West

...although I've still not entirely decided on the product, I was wondering if any members in the South West/Bristol area can recommend a reputable/approved fitter for things like immobilisers/trackers? I've also read the horror stories of when they've been fitted badly. Thanks in advance...

Buying youngest a new car - advice please

I think a tracker is a great idea, but I think he'd find it and that would be a betrayal... unless I lie and pretend it must have been the previous owners... no... No one is gonna steal it so I can't use that as an excuse hehe

    T6.1 ignition delay

Correct unless the previous owner has installed an addition immobiliser (unlikely) or a tracker, which may be the case. Has it always taken this long before starting?

    Visible Security

Hi All, Getting Ghost II & tracker fitted to van. But wanted something else for security and as a visible deterrent. Is there any difference between a disklock or a steering wheel lock (eg stoplock pro) in terms of the level of security provided? TIA.

Beefing Up Your Vans Security - How I Done It -

...via a laptop by the tea leafs, If this is the case then surely an audible alarm will prevent getting into the front of the van, and with a Ghost alarm or similar they can just tow the van away undetected other than the GPS tracker Just want full clarity on all this before parting with my...

Does VW factory fit trackers to T6s during the manufacturing process??

I saw the following listing (on the "Vehicle Tracking Tech" website) when looking at tracker options for my T6.1. It wasn't the advertised unit per se that interested me (it has been superseded anyhow), but the claim in the blurb that it "is fitted as standard to Audi, VW, Renault, Nissan...

    Insurance Companies

Surely it's worth the 'what if I had a tracker/immobiliser fitted' chat? £600 for a system fitted, £300 saving a year say? Gotta be worth an ask?

    What Have You Bought Today?

Ordered a Scorpion S5 tracker today. Expensive addiction this Transporter lark.

    Insurance popularity question

Brentacre for 6 years. They quoted silly prices for the new van, £220 on this years insurance plus a tracker fitted. Comfort came back £250 cheaper, very friendly customer services & will not charge admin fees for example on changing you number plate.

    What Have You Bought Today?

Can you swap out the SIM on these trackers, or are you basically tied in to paying what seems rather a lot for probably not very much data usage every month?

    Battery discharging on new T6.1

Hi, I appreciate this is an old thread but curious to know what type of tracker you have fitted, if you don’t mind explaining I’ve been having issues with the battery losing charge and had wondered it the tracker might be responsible. Mine’s a Scorpion S2 (or S1?) but can’t find any specs...

    Solar panel starter battery charger

Doubt it, it won't keep mine above 12v in winter, but I do have a tracker. If I was buying again I'd go 50w.

    Mysterious Thing

...looks like metal, almost the size of a biro pen end behind the cap. I got the van 2nd hand and it's been renovated since but somehow I've only just noticed it. I did discover an old tracker wired in behind the dash when having some work done. Wonder if it's part of an alarm system that's no...
