Evening I’ve just removed my only manifold, tomorrow I will be removing my EGR valve & cooler, if it is goosed, I’ll be removing it completely… My question is… will the van run and drive ok without the EGR?

Any dash lights? P1440 - Open circuit -- thus ECU doesn't "see" the EGR valve electrically. Perhaps the EGR was simply left unplugged or wiring was damaged?

Hi All. I have an orange light on the dash. Plugged in the trusty reader and it’s showing Erg EGR valve needs cleaning. I have bought a can of wynns erg cleaner but not sure where on the air intake system I should spay ! Can anyone help? I have attached a pic if that helps. Cheers Rob

Contacted VW to request a EGR connecting pipe which I was led was part number 04L131521BH, however was told there are 2 potential parts dependant on which turbo I have installed on my van (150ps CXHA) and I would either need to get the turbo part number myself or bring the EGR pipe in to compare...

The soot goes to the DPF regardless. The EGR lowers NOx gas emissions by lowering combustion temperatures. If anything that increases the propensity for an engine to emit soot. EGR deletion does nothing to adversely affect the DPF as far as soot is concerned.

I’ve finally got the van back now. Bill was 2.5k for the new EGR cooler. No limp mode (yet) but garage seems to think the egr cooler failure isn’t linked to the turbo failing. So who knows?!

Just a thought: I have some blanking plates here if I blanked the egr off I’d obviously get a eml but would it go into limp mode? I’d be interested to know if blanking the egr would kill the problem and if so I could get it mapped out?

Van is 2016 (66 plate). They say leaking soot from EGR pipes. Radiators probably is leaking because the coolant level was low a few weeks ago.

Hello i have some problem with my t6 2018 CHXA after replace Egr+cooler and the pipe on the backside. after a Quick drive like 3-6km i get 2 faulty codes P4020 P0101 What can cause this problem?

Are you sure the EGR valve was replaced, not just the actuator?
