Swapping my leisure battery to LiFePO4

Ouch. So there it is going behind the panel presumably currently moulded together with the red wire which must go off to the smart alternator via a crimp connector or something. The manual says both wires are all of 20cm long! The positive battery terminal is currently at least 30cm away.

Swapping my leisure battery to LiFePO4

One thing to check if you are going lithium is you need to find where the battery setting wire from the CTEK is as that will need changing to change the charge profile. Make sure you can find that while you have good access.

Upgraded Lithium leisure battery - update

...of mind knowing you can go for days without having to worry about running out of charge, and damaging the battery. By the time we had driven the 80 miles home it was fully recharged. If anyone is thinking about upgrading to a lithium leisure battery, go for it. You will not be disappointed.

    Camper electrics

Thanks for this, it's all very new to me so I'm starting at the bottom. I'm installing 240v electrics very soon, so on site will be okay, it's just the off grid side of things I'm unfamiliar with

...to a Lifepo4 battery rather than lead acid as our Waeco fridge draws up to 4.5 amps at 12 volts and hammers a typical 110 Ah leisure battery in a weekend during summer. Similarly if you replace that Ctek then get something that will do B2B and solar that includes a lithium charger profile too.

    Basic no-leisure battery setup

What’s involved with this? And can it be bought as a kit? I’m coming from caravaning and what a super basic system. I have thought the portable battery pack is the way, but why I’m at carpeting point in the build I am thinking a basic EHU system is going to be worthwhile? Many thanks

    Dellmassive`s Camper Van Adventure

As a rough guestimate that will run the heater for 5.8 hours before the delta2 runs to 0%.

Very true, I'm looking at about a 25% duty cycle with the thermostat. Then add in the 230ah lithium battery that will be used to trickle charge the delta2 upto 8A or 100w.... Then with two.... 230+230ah = 460ah ( that's 5520wh). Assuming we fit both... Run the numbers on that and see...

Fridges & Cold Beer -- How I Done It --

...but I guess my point is tech is cool but let's not forget that folks were going away for a week in a field in a T2 just fine when the word lithium only meant medication or a fancy grease. That looks like ctek d250sa? The SA is the older version The d250se is the newer version that add a lithium battery charge profile. That's a 20A ish DC-DC charger from the engine when running. It also has the ability to have a solar panel connected to it.

Two seatbase batteries?!?, bloody hellfire you're going to end up with more lithium on board than an ID Buzz at this rate... Good plan topping up the EcoFlow, though in my book I'd never describe 100w as "trickle charge" :p

Renogy DCC30S - what mains battery charger?

Those old chargers are not suitable for charging lithium. But you could as you say connect to the starter battery (alt input on the Renogy) and let it charge the starter. At some point the Renogy will kick in and start charging the LB. The Renogy will cycle on,/off as the starter battery...
