18” Tyre recommendations for 8J wheels

Similar to others I'm currently running ring 255/45/18 on Momo revenge 18's. Spring suspension 40mm lower than factory. Van is a LWB T6.1 t30 manual, converted to a camper but also weekend daily drive. Speedo reads bang on at the moment. I'm thinking of replacing tyres with 255/50 or 255/55...

    T6.1 Shuttle Advice

Morning all I’m looking for some advice- I’m collecting a t6.1 shuttle next week, I’d like to modify it but live on the west coast of Scotland quite remote and probably not the wisest idea to go to low with both suspension and tyres?! I drive a hilux with mud-terrains for work but not keen on...

Advice re new 17" spare wheel replacement tyre size

Any advice of how you managed to get the spare wheel in there. Just having a go and it seems like there is no chance it’ll fit. I’m on the higher pin position to allow for a larger wheel but the bracket can’t get near to a horizontal angle. (Fitting 235/60/r17 to standard steel wheel)

Help! Returned from garage with Smaller Top mounts

The lower spring seat is an Achilles heel of the rear suspension The top of the rear spring gets the large platform that is rubber reinforced with metal as pic above . If you have a coil over kit these are removed The lower one is a standard VW part but troublesome we have...

    Water but from where?

Hello All, Have had my T6.1 kombi since November. In June noticed some water after I had washed my van as in the photo below - this is the front passenger. Nothing at all in the cab lining or on the step or on the floor. Went to VW who replaced the door seal but it is still occurring. Booked in...

    Buying Advice

I have seen a van advertised which I am interested in but am new to VW Transporters so wanted to check what to look out for. It is a 2016 LWB T30 Highline Euro 6 on 90K miles, full service history with recent service, cambelt change and water pump. It has also been lowered 40mm with adjustable...

    CRS Performance

Greeting from New Zealand. Are the Koni Special active shocks available to fit a T6 Multivan that has Eibach 35mm lift springs installed? I am topping out the OEM front shocks over speed bumps etc. The multivan highline is 20mm lower than T6 "normal" from the factory so I presume the OEM shocks...

    Kiravan handbrake lowering kit issue

Hi Everyone, I’ve just fitted a Kiravan handbrake lowering kit as per instructions however the new aftermarket trim seems to restrict the movement of the original vw plastic handbrake arm/hand grip and binds up or pulls on the new plastic trim. Also the new trim doesn’t seem to slot I’ve the...

    Bodywork/rust repair recommendations South Manchester/Cheshire

As per the title really, I need a few areas of bodywork looking at and a couple of wheel arches replacing due to rust. It’ll probably need a lower half repaint at the same time too. It’s not a show vehicle as it’s a converted ex-courier van and has a few dings here and there. So it doesn’t need...

    T5.1 LWB T30 2015

Hi T6 Members, I have a Kombi version T5.1 LWB T30 with 18" Sportline Alloys and looking to replace the suspension with a more comfortable but lowered ride and seen chats with regards to dampers/shocks v coil over/shocks. The van isn't weight laden and only ever really two adults and a dog...

    Change of winter tyres

Ok, cheers for advice. I’ve already ordered the 235 for fitting on Friday. Was looking to sit down at lower psi which not sure 225 would do? Although I’m pretty clueless on this. I’m convinced my t5 didn’t have tyres hard as concrete like my t6?

Aluminium or Plastic Front Grille Trims

Hi, looking for some advice. I've bought some aluminium front grille and wing mirror trims for my T6 from this Van Style range https://www.vanstyle.co.uk/van/edition-piece-front-grille-lower-trim-2015-2019-p-5762.html Going to paint them so thought the paint would take better to the aluminium...

    Timing belt change

Wouldn't recommend Gates on any vehicle, I've seen more gates related failures (be it big or small problems) than any other manufacturers.

    T6.1 Transporter 30mm lowering options

You can lower it slightly by changing shocks and springs and this will be more comfortable than standard at a lower ride height , There are various ways to do it , but i would say avoid coil overs which is what most suppliers want you to buy from them .

Jacking points, trolley jacks and axle stands

Hi, has anyone else had issues with lowered T6.1 with side bars and garages not being able to get a trolly jack or lift onto the jacking points without crushing the side bar. For context I have a 20plate t6.1 Kombi T32 SWB which has a full Leighton kit, it’s been lowered approx 50mm and has...

19s or 20s which to buy!!??

Not any good ones yet but need to take some, will post some a bit later. It's a Bognor Motors van so it's their suspension setup on Bilsteins and 265/40/20. .Previous T5 was on 235/55/19 with Eibach 30mm springs drop and the ride was significantly 'softer' though with more body roll. I did...
