Oh - thanks for that advice. I checked the voltage (on the control panel, the only method I have) with the fridge still running. I'll do another check with it off.
I remember chatting about this with you before I went for the Koni special actives.
I camp in mine so being able to go up farm tracks and across fields without hitting the underside is a must.
I also prioritise comfort and in my camper carries camping kit which rattles and adds weight, and...
Hello, jumping in on this thread as I've read a load the last day so looking for a bit of advice on suspension.
Have a 2019 T6 T30 DSG, day van conversion; rock and roll bed, under seat fridge with pop-top and solar. Its on factory suspension and 17" Devonports.
Van went for a service and I've...
Hi all, Looking to get a tow bar fitted to my all seasons T6.1 camper to pull a camping trailer. I have a few queries.. how many of you opted for 13 pin vs 7 on the electrics, is it worth going whole hog then use an adapter? How do I know if my van has the towing prep wired in?
In terms of...
Hi Everyone looking for advice having just purchased a new transporter 6.1 being delivered later on in the year I want to start getting some parts purchased ready to fit when it arrives, my question is what is the best manufacturer who makes the all black gloss front upper and lower grills and...
Hi Lee,
This is what I know, but some specialist advice from someone like Steve @CRS Performance is your definitive way forward.
If you want COMFORT over the looks of being ‘low’, then as far as I know you can’t get much better than lowering springs and good quality shocks. On the other hand...
Your van is a Camper so fitting those springs will be a disaster , if they are rated at 35 mm my prediction will be front 45 and rear 75 This cant work well and the ride will be horrible . Call a specialist ( ME ha ha ) and we can explain the problem in depth
You need a...
Hi all - does anyone have any suggestions for a suitable rear bed / seat for someone with short legs? We have tried sitting on a RIB Altair (2 seater) and my feet dangled above the ground (I’m only 5ft). Loved the bed, but found sitting with my feet dangling rather uncomfortable! Any suggestions...
I've just bought an ex rac t6.
I've been told the rac t32s have uprated Suspension. Not sure if that's springs and dampers.
The ride is awful. Very boaty and the steering seems really light.
It's going to be a work van but won't be carrying no more than 100kgs at time.
I'd like it a bit lower...
Has anyone on here got this kit from travelinlite- transporters
Is this everything needed for a suspension upgrade/lowering
Looking for advice on this pack as I will have to get a local fitter/garage to install...
Evening all,
I have recently become the unexpected owner of a 2005 T5 SWB Kombi with 71k on the clock. The last MOT gave the only advisory as one of the rear dampers needing attention. I’m of the opinion that I should probably do all of them as at this age, it’s not going to be long till the...
Hi @Gstar
I too run 275/40 19” tyres. Mine are 105Y XL Falken Azenis FK510 on 19x9” wheels.
My LWB Kombi is mostly run virtually empty.
I’ve been slowly lowering pressures and am currently @ 46PSI all round.
The tyres have done around 12k miles and still have over 5m left, evenly worn...
All after market springs are usually spec d at 40 mm in an empty van . the 4 motion already ads a ton of weight , you need to select the correct kit to cope with this .
More weight the lower the van goes , the standard shocks dont like this and the ride suffers badly
Really would...
I too have had the CRS Performance treatment.
When I got my van brand new 4 years ago I had VW lower it using their 30mm lowering kit. It was ok.
Sadly I kept losing the plastic fuel tank covers from the underside of my van (Really rubbish quality VW)
Ok. I was probably going too fast through...
I cant guarantee this, but to me it looks like its had a wee drop. Its also sitting nice and level too. Compare it to my T6.1 with 18s when I first got it.
