Just a quick note to say what a great job Jason and Noel did in upgrading the head unit, superb job and chalk and cheeses on the sound, gets a bit addictive though so going back for subwoofer and application upgrade next, so knowledgable can't recommend highly enough
Has anyone fitted the power amp and subwoofer kit for these speakers just found a copy of the installation manual and it states that you have to connect the live supply directly to the battery positive terminal. Seems a bit of a faff and just wandered if anyone knows of an easier alternative...
I will post individual threads for these but wanted to get an initial post up - partially so people can give me thoughts on prices...
BULKHEAD - KOMBI
T6 Kombi twin slider bulkhead with window.
Made by 'Motexion' I think - but sold by VW I believe as an option...
All carpeted on crew...
I have a decent under seat subwoofer that sadly does not fit under the drivers seat - mainly because my leisure battery is there
So I was thinking I could mount on the outside of the front seats (that swivel) to retain storage. Using some matt or foam to minimise vibration. I am yet to...
Hey all, so considering the Subwoofer under bench seat option but a little hesitant as to how good it would actually sound under the seat?? Any experience? Is it worth drilling the seat housing??
Sad to be selling our VW Transporter T6, 150BHS, rare DSG auto, Aurora Exclusive Edition H/Line Campervan 4 Berth pop top converted in 2020 by Status 1 in Batley. A 2020 specification limited build number 209 "Aurora Exclusive Edition". It is a beautiful campervan lightly used and well loved...
...took my van to Skipton Car Radio last Friday for a full speaker upgrade and what can I say. I have had cars with seperate amps and big subwoofers in the boot( all standard factory fit though) but this is definitely the best car stereo I have ever heard. Got the pods in the back and you can...
I had the space under the drivers seat down for a subwoofer but that’d fit better in that dead space, so i’m liking the look of that roamer battery.
I’m also thinking of going Li straight away instead of rewriting it all in year when i’ve sacrificed that AGM.
I’ll pm Steve.
I think you'd have to unless you could make some sort of upright bracket and fit a smallish footprint DC-DC charger to it, maybe a Victron Orion, so that it pokes through the hole in front of the seat base. Depends what you want to do drivers side, Subwoofer or night heater maybe?
Has been fitted in my van for about a year and working perfectly. Am removing to replace with a different speaker. These sound excellent running on OEM headunit and are much much better than OEM speakers made of toilet paper or combine with amp and sub for abit more noise. All plug and play...
They literally only just become available in the uk so not many would have been installed yet
we have them in stock ..
it’s really not that hard to run the power, but look under the passenger seat to see if there is a thick red.. some have them others do not, if so connect to that … I wouldn’t...
There is a compromise between aesthetics and sound quality to a degree with these pods and there is air volume behind the speakers. Due to the nature of frequencies the speaker handles you don't need anything the size of a sub enclosure.
Also I wouldn't put speakers in a box on the floor. The...
...both from the bass and with zero distortion at the top end.
Parked up at one point to sit in the passenger seat and experience the free massage facility provided by the subwoofer if you whack up the volume with the right track playing!
You'd think I'd know better at my age
Thanks again guys.
I've just installed a Focal amplifier and the 200mm Focal speakers with T6 mounting kit into my van.
The good:
1. The tweeters are pretty nice. Much less fatiguing than the OEM ones.
The bad:
1. The woofers are pretty poor. Very boomy and lose composure when turned up loud (I've used the...
