Hi ,
I’m new to VW campers , I pick up my T6.1 next week from Platinum Wave Campers .
There installing a removable tow bar so I’m after a bike rack that will tilt enough to clear the tailgate when bikes are on rack .
The problem in the past with my old motorhome 2 bike rack is the handlebar on...
Maybe a tailgate bike rack with a storage bag would be easier to fit and access , also less drag, there are purpose made luggage bags that fit the tailgate bikeracks and secondhand racks are always available
...bikes can actually be fully secured to these carriers?
Cheers!
PS. Thule have sent an interesting reply to a separate query about towbar bikeracks to say:
"We cannot recommend our towbar mounted bikeracks for vans as they are intended for normal cars. Vans usually have a longer wheelbase...
Its the 4 Bike Towbar Mounted Bike Rack from Halfords.
It does tilt for access to the boot but not enough for the tailgate on the Transporter which is annoying!
Thanks

I've just bought a pack of paint protection stickers from Amazon to use with the 2nd hand genuine bike rack that I got recently. Unfortunately, the instructions are dire & I'm struggling to find anything better on the internet. I have google translated the instructions (attached) but the...
Now not used as our new van has rails and we tend to use those to transport 2 bikes.
Good condition with 2 keys. Collection from solihull. £275
Will take a couple of pics tomorrow.
I cant find a definitive answer to this. At first I thought id did and now I've seen a post that says it doesn't.
Basically I've seen a cheap bike rack on Marketplace but its for a T5 so my question, will it fit my T6?
We have a mk2 bike rack, but don't have the sticky bits and tool to put it on properly.Looked on ebay and they are saying £30 for the tool, then £30 for the sticky bits......anyone done it cheaper? Thanks in advance!

Rear mounted boot bikeracks | Thule | United Kingdom
Reason for sale is changing to electric bikes and they are too heavy for us to lift on and off the rack.

hi all,
So today I'm the new proud owner of an Audi rear bike rack, sku 4K2071105, that I picked up BNIB on Facebook marketplace for £220.
I'm pretty sure this is a Uebler P22S rack.
Anyway, works a treat, solid, well put together, dead easy to fit, and bikes tip away from the tailgate to a 90...
Mines a 2 bike thule tailgate rack and the box just fits on, then 4 ratchet straps ,take the wheels off it sits on the rack better.
I have just made a ply board that sits on the rack but yet to be tested with the box.
I think 900n is the stock tailgate. If you have a bike rack on there you can choose 1250n but I found these too tough (or the wife did as she hung off the boot while trying to close it). There are 985n which is I think what’s fitted to posh vans with a lot of panels etc on the tailgate (carvelle...
I'm selling my bike rack as I've not used it since I got the T6.1 which has a spoiler on.
I dismantled and sprayed this rack and forgot to spray the interlinking 4th clamp which remains silver.
I haven't actually used it to carry bikes since.
Will come with the security/ torque tool and keys...
Hi all, I have a Thule G6 929 3 bike rack with 4th bike adapter.
Its been great for years but kids bikes getting bigger and my new bike and I'm having problems.
With 4 bikes when I tilt it all the weight is now ending up resting on the pedals of the 4th bike - far from ideal. Van is standard...
Hi all, I have a Thule Wanderway 4 bike rack and only need it for 2. They sit really high on the T6 so never easy on uneven ground to attach the top fixings. I have removed the outer 2 rails so I can climb under to fit 1 bike but it really has to do the second. Has anyone cut down the frame to...

Got a bit confused after looking around for more info so just wondering what the forum wisdom is!?
I have a tow bar mounted rack with it's own light bar, so do I actually need the red and white stripey sign in Europe? Will be visiting Italy as well as France so there's the aluminium rather than...
