External storage bike rack

Has anyone got a bike rack that they use with some sort of bag/box for external storage?

I am thinking of doing it for my VW T6.1 and would like some recommendations on set up before purchasing anything.

This was our setup for our euro trip last year. Worked amazingly! Had the driveaway awning, 3 chairs, outdoor mats and hookup in!

Went with one of these from B&Q works a treat for transporting/storing the awning and various other bits, waterproof and rigid enough to rachet straped to bike rack used with a small cargo net for deck chairs and body boards

I Have a LOT of these. Found them so handy for lots of different things. The most recent being the Christmas Decorations. Stack nicely in attic. I'm on lookout for 4 bike rack tilting towbar carrier. Out of curiosity do you just sit tub on where bikes should go and then ratchet on?

Mines a 2 bike thule tailgate rack and the box just fits on, then 4 ratchet straps ,take the wheels off it sits on the rack better.
I have just made a ply board that sits on the rack but yet to be tested with the box.

Thule easybase and easy bag. Fits on tow eye and frees up so much room internally.

This is the exact bag we purchased aswell. Really heavy duty and easy to strap down. Very waterproof too!
i like the look for this for the bike rack, do you just use the tie down straps that come with it or do you have some kind of rachet straps that you use too? is the bad a decent size as well?

I use the tie down straps on the bag, then have 2 ratchet straps that go all the way round the bag and rack.

The bag is a good size. When we came back from France last year, we had our driveaway awning, 3 chairs, floor mats, hook up cable and a few other bits. Gave us so much extra space in the cabin! There was even room to spare!

Looks like its gone up in price a bit, I think we payed £35. But this is the one I bought.
