Zero bass, only treble 🤔

Hi everyone!

I've recently bought a T6 and it has zero bass from all speakers. Adjusting the bass setting on the head unit makes absolutely no difference (treble adjusts fine). Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

Not sure what the real low Hz that in car entertainment really achieves but with Hi-fi the first thing to suspect is the reversal of one of the speaker terminals. This does not cancel out higher frequencies but low frequencies of one speaker out of phase will cancel out the low frequencies of another speaker. I have little knowledge of in car entertainment except that modified they tend to run multiple amps. Very easy to cross wires I might have thought or even miss something out. I have never concerned myself with car radio so that is it.

Do you mean both the front door speakers left and right?

Or have you got speakers also in the rear that are the same with no base?

Is there can be an issue with water from the windows running into the door voids and getting into the speakers and rusting the cones solid.

But if you say you've got other internal speakers then it might be something different?

Thanks guys.

It's both left and right door speakers, yes. And nope, no speakers in the back. Standard speakers I believe, so I don't think anyone's been playing with the wiring.

So a replacement of the door speakers could be a good shout... That wouldn't be a bad upgrade in any case. I may give that a go and hope that it fixes the problem. If not, I'll go digging into the wiring, or consider a new head unit.

Cheers

would be worth speaking to one of the audio gurus @Absolut5 or @Dav-Tec they can supply some plug and play options and get you on the right track no pun intended

It's normally aftermarket speaker installs that don't use the rain shield that get wet and go rusty.

The OEM standard speakers sit further forward towards the door card and don't suffer the same issue as far as I'm aware?.

You'll have to take door card off to see whether the speakers have been upgraded previously.

Post some pictures of your head unit and speakers throw the grill.

If they are stock speakers then the voice coils have melted , causing loss of low end and even no sound, very common

A T6 has 8" speakers so normally a reasonable amount of bass.
Have the speakers or head unit been changed as it sounds like one of the door speakers is out of phase electrically with the other and causing cancellation rather than summing of air pressure.
