Your favorite pic of your Transporter

Nice colour van @Stay Frosty but wrong wheel colour. 🤪
That's my advanced years shining through, still like a bling wheel, in fact a bit of brightwork around the vehicle in general.
In my day, back in Victorian times, it was the width of the wheel rather than how tall it was and matt black was what was under the wheel trim... what would I know though, still waiting for my Northern Soul bags and leather trench coat to come back in fashion.

You'll have to drop in next time as we've just finished replacing all the wall silk and gilding in the drawing room (repainted the downstairs bog).
Might let you have a play on my radio so you can swear at the Russians for me, I'm still boycotting them... they'll crack eventually.
Edit... is she in the first bungalow before the two white houses, if so I'll stop throwing dogs muck over the fence.

Travelling from your end she's the bungalow on the right on the inside of the corner, Blue transit and browny gold Mini.

Provided its not a euphemism id love to come and have a play on your radio. I've V/U/446/PMR/Marine in the van.

It looks epic! Just messing solely because you said my black new wheel choice wasn’t bling enough in my other thread. 😊

I do have some element of bling though, as I went for gloss black.

Not used the van for a while, after a close family bereavement put everything on hold. I'm sure many will recognise the location.....

Considering my options wether to upgrade or not at the moment.

I am sorry to hear of your loss SAGO. It may be sensible to consider putting off for a little while big decisions while still grieving or in a state of shock.

I thought that I knew the exact place in the image but fling over care of maps could not arrive at the same place. :(

Thank you, after a short illnes, my father passed recently, so yes still grieving. I get you about making big decisions, at this stage, its simply thinking things through, and whats used and whats not., The possibility of a fresh rebuild, so it's not something I'd rush into, definetly more of a winter project. The location: Bibury in Gloucestershire looking over towards Arlingham row.

Not the most glamorous photo or site compared to others (as sons drive). Got my van 2 years ago on the basis my eldest son lives 120 miles along the coast and wife said what a good idea we can go more. We go more, but most times we are in hotels when visiting if she is thwre (she says it’s a boys toy) - but me and the youngest son (14) have been away loads including Europe (so she is probably right) - memory maker and dad / son bonding time. So it is a special photo to me (and not just because he is off the computer).

Anyone going to Busfest that wants to beat him at chess as it’s getting annoying lossing all the time when you used to win;)

I’m just back yesterday from Iceland.
Most expensive place I’ve ever visited. £10-£15 a pint £30 for burger and chips. They wanted £80 just to swim in a lagoon.
How did you find the locals ?
We found most of them pretty unfriendly down to down right rude.
Also as much as Iceland is beautiful it’s not a patch on Scotlands beauty.
I kind of spoiled myself touring Scotland for the past few years.
And it was bloody cold. 9 degrees most days with a feel like temp of 6 because of the howling wind.
It was drizzling most days too and sulphur from the volcanoes make a lot of the island smell off eggs.
Even the water from the taps smelled and tasted of eggs.
I won’t go back.
I keep meaning to do a trip report, bottom line, I won’t go back, and not really recommend it, I’d go to places like Norway multiple times and of course beautiful Scotland.

I'm glad you said that, as both Iceland (fly and hire a VW 4MOTION) and Scandinavia are well up there on our list. This might push us towards Scandinavia sooner!! 👍

A lot of respect for anyone keeping and maintaining anything pre T4...love any Tx, but that takes a lot of patience, quite some mechanical knowledge and a good deal of TLC...🤙

Sadly owning a T2 is waning away, good buses are not readily available (they are around). Over on thelatebay we do see folk buy a cheap bus which becomes a 20k restoration project and get in way too deep.
