Yet Another DPF Thread - 2016 CXGB Engine

Afternoon All.

After replacing a faulty EGR valve, I've still got error codes P2458 - DPF Regen Duration and P2463 - DPF Soot Accumulation (plus the engine management light and flashing coil). Should add here, the EGR specific codes I was getting have been cleared.
I tried to do a Service Regen whilst driving and, though the 'Soot Mass Measured' dropped readily, the 'Soot Mass Calculated' actually rose up from 44 grammes to 48g; so the Regen looks unsuccessful. The van has done 117k miles.

According to the data, it's now been almost 1000km since the last Regen - though, from what I can see, the data seems to indicate that it's still in Regen mode.
I'd appreciate it if somebody could kindly take a look at the blockmap below and share your thoughts.

Cheers, Adi

Any history of the van, any remaps or emission defeat s? How long you have owned the van? Any idea why the van missed the regen at proper time - e.g. low on fuel? Did you ever get the DPF light?

Thanks for the response, much appreciated. I’ve had the van for 7 years now. No remaps, no EGR/DPF deletes etc. Regularly serviced.
It was a lease panel van to a company who provided water fountains/bottles to businesses prior to conversation and me owning it. It had around 80 k on the clock when converted.

Van rarely used for short journeys and either premium fuel or Archoil AR6900-D added upon fill up.

The lights on the dash are the engine management and flashing coil light. The DPF light has came on a number of times over the last 6 months. Usually, whilst in a long motorway run. The light has gone off on its own accord later in the journey or not returned after switching off the engine.

I diid have an EGR issue (mentioned on a previous thread on here) and I replaced it - pig of a job that I vow never to repeat - I’d thought it was the faulty EGR that was preventing the regen from completing but, on the face of it, it doesn’t look to be the case.

The DPF diff pressure is between 6 millibars at idle but I noticed this rise to 7 over a 15 minute logging period as the engine warmed…

Think that’s it. I’d hoped it would be something obvious like a faulty pressure or temp sensor but it’s never the case with these vans.

Cheer's, Adi

I'm afraid the 44 grams is beyond the maximum(*) allowed - even though some numbers (**) indicate ongoing regen.
See below a snippet from the blockmap.

Interestingly these numbers are apart from each other as normally they are in sync.
Curious as it seems that the collected ash mass has been reset to zero some time ago, approx 1000 miles ago?

Interesting.... sounds like the DPF regen hasn't been effective enough. Have you recordings of fuel consumption - actual fill-ups vs. miles driven?

Perhaps you could gather some more data

Ignition ON/engine off

Create/post both engine blockmap and adaptation maps
