WVTA vs NCC vs VW MQC

I'm new to the forum, so please be gentle.

We're currently researching to purchase (or have converted) a T6.1 campervan. Safety is important, so I've been learning a bit about Whole Vehicle Type Approval, NCC certificate, and VW's Motorhome Qualified Converters.

Seems that there are only a few converters that offer WVTA, and similarly only a few that are on the VW MQC list.

What I find interesting is that, without naming names (yet), there are some who offer WVTA but are not on the VW MQC list. Why would that be? I initially thought you'd have to be on the MQC list to be able to get WVTA.

Also, what is covered by NCC that is not covered by WVTA? A sales person told me that WVTA is "above" NCC, but I'm not so sure. Their company only seems to offer WVTA but not NCC, and they're not on the VW MQC list.

If anyone can shed some light on the above that would be great. Right now, finding a converter that satisfies/offers all three things makes for a very short list.

Thanks!

NCC = National Caravan Council.

AIUI, all about the habitation. Not sure if they have standards for belted seating though.

WVTA = independent approval of the vehicle, I think as a vehicle rather than the habitation side? I may be wrong.

MQC = VW approved. I read that as being a commercial, marketing thing.

I wouldn't get hung up about NCC. After all, Swift are NCC approved!
