Wing mirror disaster ! Wiring advice needed please

Around a year ago I found someone had kindly hit my drivers side wing mirror on my 2016 T6 parked on a busy road and left it dangling . The interior aluminium mounting bracket had broken in two. When I took the top wing mirror cap off to investigate I could see all the cables passed through the centre of the broken bracket. The cost of replacing it at a dealers was out of the question but being a self employed decorator I needed the van for my work. I bought a new bracket to do a quick repair. Unfortunately a neighbour, trying to help to be fair, decided to cut all the cables house in the wing mirror to allow us to replace the bracket without having to pull all the cables from within the door after removing the door cards. His thinking we could simply reconnect the cut cables. Since then I've still been able to recieve and make phone calls, listen to AM and FM radio but the DAB only works rarely and intermittently. Also since the damage happened the sound has only comes out of the tweeters in the A posts. Can the cables be reconnected and will that both improve the DAB reception and restore the sound to come out of the door speakers. ?

Yeah he owes you a new bunch of aerial looms. The other wires can be rejoined but rejoining co-ax is never going to go well. Daft thing is, it's so easy to de-pin those connectors it's hugely shorter time wise than cutting and splicing.

Thanks for getting back . Is it just coincidence that the sound stopped coming from the door (bass) speakers at the same time or (as someone told me) the amp has packed in working in the head unit leaving me with a very trebbley , tinny , sound from the tweeters only ? So if I reconnect the other cables and install new DAB arial will that make the door speakers start to work again?

Could be cables broken in the door (they go through the large rubber ribbed grommet). Though if your "helper" was ham fisted, could they have cut those wires as well?

From what I remember he just snipped the four cables that were visible. So four cuts in total. Today I took the van to an audio visual car specialist. I'd been told the amplifier in the head unit had failed causing the tinny trebbley sound but the guy said the head unit amplifier wouldn't just power the sound to the tweeters if it was knackered and he tested the door speakers. One was working (passenger side) the drivers side not. So I've ordered new speakers tonight. What would your suggestion be to get the base back in the overall sound?

More info.
