Wing Door Adjustment

Noticed that unless I a) give it a bit of welly or b) hold the door towards the bottom, the lower latch of my wing door often fails to catch first time. Once it's closed, everything looks properly aligned.

Are there any adjustments to either the latches, hinges etc. to improve the chances of it catching first time.

By wing door do you mean the rear tailgate? Is your van carpeted? Maybe the slam vents have been covered. There are a couple of stoppers on either side of the tailgate, you could try setting them in a little. I think they are there to stop the tailgate rattling.

Wing door is what VW (in their infinite wisdom) calls barn doors. I thought I ought to use the correct technical term if I was asking a technical question.

At the moment, it's a bare bones kombi so no airvents covered at the moment.
