Looking at getting a wind out awning but don't want to drill the van .
Not got a poptop and not a huge fan of how 'out there' some look so wondered if its possible to attach them to a set of roof bars which then I could fix solar to making them dual purpose and help smooth the looks of the awning .

Anyone done this ?

Yip @JumpShip . Fiamma F45s Fitted to rhino roof bars. Still going strong 3 years on or so!

My main reasons were did not want to drill and riv nut brackets on (understand rail options available) and also ended up being lower than bracketed options which helped with overall clearance. Also meant I could take off and sell or put on another van (which never happened) I had my rhino bars sprayed gloss black.

Morning ChrisBell and thanks for the reply.
Do you have a pic of your set up ?
I have considered a full rack but it seems abit of an expensive overkill for what I need at the mo .

Coomb valley campers just done a ARB wind out in a roof rack. (On the YT channel)

Makes the total hight very high though.

The front runner rack is good but damn expensive for what I need .
Overall increase in height is something I'd always tried to avoid , I don't really want to fit bars if I'm honest but don't see much choice at the mo . 🤷‍♂️

We have the Fiamma 45s mounted to a set of Ultibars with a set of these

That's the brackets I also have....

My pics may sting your eyes... You will note I need to change or paint Fiamma end cap. Plagued with the white flaking paint effect :)

I can visualise how it all fits now thank you  .
Think it's less in your face up against the rack and no holes to drill in the van

How do you stop the rain from flooding in off the roof?
I've personally never had an issue. Just keep back a bit off side of van. Other have used pipe insulation etc to block off. You can also buy runner I think Fiamma even sell it to form a shield.
