Will a security lock prevent a window?

Im looking to potentially get a van that has security a lock fitted on the side door but if I get it I would want to install a window. Will this be an issue or can I just remove it?

Looking at the location of that lock I’d think the adhesive would go straight over the hole once the lock was removed.
It looks like it on the line of it anyway, so would hide the hole

just be careful it’s not a deadlock, check there’s no wiring involved.

Looks more like ittl be the latch design, but you never know…

no electrical wiring luckily, Im thinking it should be possible to take out the part that the key goes in but potentially leave the part with the bolt in the door to keep the void filled?

Yeah, you’ll just have the leave the latch in place but where the lock could possibly be cut out but will deffo be covered.

Depends how much it bothers you (the latch) but a good body shop will be able to weld a plate in and fill/smooth/paint easy enough.

I think I’d opt for a bonded patch over a weld, plenty of good polymer adhesives available these days.
Not many garage mechanics who can really weld, I’ve seen seagulls lay down a better bead on a dockside.
