Will 102 do for a T32?

Evening all.....

Another noob question. Will 102 load rated tyres really not do for a T32. Even though it's 'probably' never going to be fully loaded? I'm looking at some 20" wheels and can either go for 275/35 102 or 275/40 106. Obviously it'll be a better match for rolling circumference on the 35's or should I ignore that and go for the 40's?

Cheers.

No. This is the issue with 20's and T32. You need 103+. Unfortunately Pirelli not make the appropriate tyre now. Most people go for a slight oversize on the 275/40 20 - We are just about to try a set of 265/40 20 104, so will report back to confirm clearances.

Cheers for the info. When you say just about to try.....when do you mean? I need to confirm first thing in the morning.

Wheels and tyres turn up thursday, bilsteins are going on as we speak. on ET40 9x 20 rims. I think they will be perfect

I think I'm getting 9x20 ET40. I've just got H&R springs lowed 50mm. I'll stick with the 275/40/20's 106 for now then

You will still have to modify the inner arch. The Et and wheel size is perfect. Any lower and you would need to have a play with the chassis for clearance

This is what worries me....I'm being assured by the guys selling me these that they will not rub!! The reckon they fit them "aaaalllllllllll" the time!

Hi just wondering if you fitted them? Currently looking at 40 tyres on 20" but will be going air suspension so wanting to know how big they are

Check your plate with axle weights under the bonnet.
It will have something like: 1700/1720 as axle weights. Take the higher figure and halve it = 860kg.
A 102 tyre is load rated for 850kg.
However, with different engines / gearboxes your may be different so always worth a check.

Yes, been running them for over 4000 miles on Et40 x9, on slammed bilstein suspension, wit zero issues.

Cool im more interested in how 20" look with 40 profile tyres if you have any pics?

Looking at getting some Judd alloys but want the load rating as I need 860kg which means 103

See that ain't bad at all!

Awesome van by the way what's it lowered on?
