Wheel bolt torque settings

I would never torque a locking bolt to that value, or you risk damaging the head of the locker and then you’re in a other world of pain. When I had them, I just torqued to “German Torque”, gutentight.

I removed all my lockers though, as wheel theft is much rarer now than it once was.
 
Do you know if they’re the same for the locking bolt? Seems high for the lower amount of surface to grip on.
In my very humble opinion, it’s a very poor, weak design by Vw on the OEM locking bolt.
They are ‘orrible to undo at the side of the A1, pouring with rain, in the dark.
Threw mine away & replaced with a standard OEM bolt.
The PDI guys have buckets of them as the vans come with standard bolts & they swop them out before customer handover.
If you are nice & ask them politely, they will give you a set of 4…
That’s how I got mine…
