Hello
Does anyone know what could be wrong with the webasto? It is fitted in a 2016 T6

What's the issue? Something not working? Does the code clear?

Parking heater: operating condition: After-run - cooling
The Webasto obviously was running?

Please post - Ignition ON/Engine OFF the following:
a) full VCDS Auto-Scan
b) measuring values, adaptations, advanced ID of 18-Aux. Heater
c) measuring values, adaptations, advanced ID of 01-Engine
d) measuring values, adaptations, advanced ID of 08-HVAC

The problem happens sometimes. If i start the webasto with the remote , then it runs fine untill i stop it and then the error code comes up and the webasto locks up. Then i can delete the code and it works fine again

Do you mean stop the Webasto with remote? Without touching remote, does the Webasto turn off when engine is turned off?
Control Module Part Number: 7E0 963 273 HW: 7E0 963 273
From factory this heater did not come with the remote? Any information what it is?

Software Coding: 4001
Neither does the coding support VW OEM remote = 40 = remote controller not installed.

Quite confused here 🤔

Thats weird😅 We just bought the car 1 month ago so i dont know how it is set up. Mightbe the previous owner retrofitted the webasto/the wireless remote? Because i dont have any button in the car to start the webasto, only the remote

Well, that might explain it. My GUESS is that the remote's receiver is connected some non-standard way and thus possibly is the cause the fault on "External data bus" - which possibly refers to the dedicated data bus between "normal" Webasto and remote controller.

Does the remote start the cabin blower, or only the Webasto? With the current coding it should not.

EDIT: I would guess the remote is not a VW remote?

Surely the easiest course of action is to read the Webasto's errors direct rather than faff about with the van? That is what I would do first.

Yes you can still read the Webasto ecu, you can also operate the heater via W-Bus with the Webasto software. I use WTT3.7 with the correct Webasto dongle.
google says that the error B137C 01 is a short to positive - maybe chafed wiring?

Webasto ecu
I would expect Webasto software to throw out also code decimal 18. What would that be in Webasto language?

I think google hasn't got this correct for VW. I'm fairly confident that B-codes are manufacturer specific.
VW dictionary translates
B137C 00 - External databus
B137C 01 - External databus, Electrical Failure
No other subcodes (02, 03,...) defined.

There isn't a fault code 18 listed in either decimal or hex format for the Thermo Top Evo - so no help there.

The cabin blower starts and the lights around the panel for heating/fan is on when i start the webasto.

Well, T6 Webasto with the above VW software didn't accept VW remote. To make Webasto run as a remote controlled heater the software had to be replaced with Part No SW: 7E0 963 272 B. The method is described by @Robert below

I'm fairly confident someone used Webasto remote + Webasto remote receiver to make things happen - possibly via W-bus (as mentioned by @oldiebut goodie ). And probably the setup is simply not fully compatible with VW software - thus the fault every now and then. Also, I believe you'll find some added wiring to turn on the cabin blower - as there was no such wiring in the vans with 7E0 963 273 software.

I'm afraid there is no VW way to make the fault go away. Perhaps a Webasto workshop has an idea?

As above - that isn't a VW badged remote so it points to a diy approach to connection rather than full integration with VW software. I presume that VW Lin-Bus commands are conflicting with the Telestart W-Bus commands hence the error - it would still help to see the actual error from the Webasto ecu to see if it matches the VW error. Possibly easiest solution is to disconnect the VW connection to the heater and solely use the remote ( most probably losing the automatic cold weather preheating function )

Hello everyone. On my 2017 VW Transporter T6, I have a Webasto heater to warm the engine when the temperature drops below 5 degrees Celsius and manual air conditioning. I would like to be able to control it without starting the engine to warm the cabin.
sorry for my bad English i want just to warm water for the shower
in France everyone say that's impossible
thank's for u help
Philippe

Good evening.
To clarify, the previous owner extended the coolant circuit at the rear to heat a plate heat exchanger, which heats the water (useful for showers or washing dishes) without starting the engine. That's why I'd like to be able to start the Webasto heater via a remote control or something similar.
Thank you for your advice, Philippe.
