Warranty? Should I purchase?

Morning all
Thanks for the add.
I’m purchasing a VW T28 SWB 2.0TDI 110 high line through VW. It’s 2021 13538 miles

Should I purchase the 3 year warranty with VW?

Pros and cons?

Thanks all

Happy to be corrected, but don’t you get years warranty as standard anyway when purchasing through a dealer?

Personally I’d leave it until after the first year so that you don’t pay for & effectively lose a year for no reason. Then get either the extended warranty or 'All In’ at that point. The All In Plan comes up on offer here and there during the year & forum members generally put something up on here when it does so worth keeping an eye out for that.

A lot of things aren't covered - including some leaks - which may come under 'consumables'.

If you have not purchased it yet, ask what the deal is concerning Warranty. If you have bought it ask a similar question. Some VW van sales guys are very used to repeat buyers of vans who are very familiar with the process. They can be quite crass and blunt when dealing with the rest of the public, they more or expect the buyer to be clued up and so some can be very unhelpful or not very forthcoming. With a car price is as or what can be negotiated with commercials what ever plus the VAT. Some are very good however so not painting them all with the same brush.

"If the used vehicle you buy is less than three years old, you will receive 12 months' Warranty. If it's three to six years old, your Warranty will last for six months. And if your vehicle's less than two years old, it will include what's left of the original Factory Warranty, which covers your vehicle until it reaches 100,000 miles or three years in age. Vehicles over 6 years old are not eligible." per VW

Would the dealer do a deal including All-In? If so you might be able to renew this before the van was 6 years old for another 2 years.
