Wanted Devonport 17 Inch Alloys

Hi,

If anybody has a set of Devonport Alloys for sale, I would be very interested.

Cheers

Shaun
Try putting your “wanted” add in the For Sale/ Wanted section, it may get more views in there. Always plenty of folks selling Devonports as they go and upgrade their alloys for something a tad bigger.

Doh.. sorry, such a noob
Not a problem, I have approved your wanted add, so that will now show on that page. Why don’t you hit the “watch thread” button at the top of the page, then you’ll get notifications when anything is posted on there. If you scroll back through you will see that Devonports come up fairly regularly.
There are these up for sale at the mo;
For Sale - Set Of Devonports
Or try pm’ing @Fish, he may have a set kicking around;
For Sale - T32 Bronze Devonports
These ones have been on for quite a while, but the poster has never said they are sold, so worth messaging the seller.
For Sale - Davenport alloy wheels

Hi - just joined after hearing great things about this forum. This weekend we picked up our first VW so brand new to the whole thing. Bought a nearly new last of the T6 (2019) Shuttle T32 S. SWB. It’s black plastic unpainted bumpers and 17’ steel wheels.

Quick question knowing nothing about this - I was thinking of running on the steel wheels until the tread got to replacement time, fitting winter tyres to the steels and seeking out some 17’ Devonports from eBay etc with delivery miles as there seem to be loads for sale. Any problems to look out for?? as I’m beginning to pick up on some info about T32s and wheels / hubs being different. Would only do it if I could safely fit VW wheels - respect the aftermarket scene but not for me. Cheers in advance and ‘hello’. Mike

Devonports are fine for a T32, but the tyres will need to be 103 / 104 load rated..

Thanks for the reply - I’ll look out for that on eBay with the right tyres. Bit of a bargain at circa £450 with just delivery mileage on them.

I put amarok cantera's on my t32 as they are oem wheels and the correct rating... but they're 19's

They look really nice. I’d consider any genuine VW - do you have any problems on full lock catching etc? Or is it just 20s that are best avoided for those reasons? Cheers for your time. Mike

No problem catching or rubbing on full lock, but i have only lowered mine 40mm...

Lots of people have 20's but they have their pros and cons... the bigger you go and the lower you go then the comfort of the ride is compromised... i think its a balance and finding a set up for your needs...

These look like they’re 104H rated..

Cheers for taking the time to spot these - really appreciate it. However the ones on eBay are delivery mileage rather than a few thousand miles which is what I’m after - otherwise you’re into the world of effectively partworn tyres which I don’t fancy. Cheers, Mike

Extra question about tyres. 215/60 R17 - understand what all that means. And on a car tyre would understand what comes next - the load and speed ratings (eg 93V). What I don’t understand on these ‘C’ van tyres is what 109/107 T & then 104H mean. Why are there (what look like) 2 load & speed rating references with seemingly different ratings? Sorry to be ignorant - had cars all my life and understand them! Totally new to vans. Cheers, Mike

I believe its to do with trucks/ light commercials that use two wheels together on the rear axle... rather than a single wheel per corner... so the two load ratings indicate single use or double use.

As you only have one wheel per corner then it won't apply to your van.

You'll need load rating 103 or 104 for the T32. H rating is rated for 130mph so you should be ok...

Hi - I’ve found a nice set and am about to buy. Just one thing - TPMS - will the new wheels recognize my van or will the warning light come on? Cheers, Mike

Do the wheels you bought (or are buying) have TPMS valves fitted? If not you'll need a set of TPMS valves fitted on your new wheels. Once fitted just drive for a short distance and TPMS receiver should pick up the valves and display the pressures.
