VW warranty now available to 100,000 miles.

I'm sad....

Both my vans are now 6+ years old and around the 100k mark.

So my warranty time is well and truly done.

But I can safely say that the All-in package I had on both vans was well worth it, and I claimed for everything.

It saved me £kkkkkkks.

Engine,
Dsg gearbox.
Egrs,
Dmfs
Egr pipes,
Fan blower resistor,
Battery,
Rear door lock.

And the list goes on.

So my lovebus is 11 years old with just 38k miles. The essential is coming in at £19 pm. Could be worth doing I'm thinking, but maybe a level up.

Doe this mean camper conversions/day vans/racked out work vans are excluded?

I guess it could be an issue if the item needing repair is modified but I think the same conditions applied with the all in and they never blinked an eye about the mods on my van.

They actually replaced a wheel bearing (that’s another thing I had done on the all in, it’s beginning to add up now :p, might have been standard warranty actually) on mine despite non standard wheels and suspension!

That was certainly my read. Even if that wasn't the intention of the clause, I think I would want a specific confirmation from VWFS that a camper conversion would be covered as we all know that they would try to use it to weasel out of a claim. I would also be concerned about something like suspension that might have been replaced using non-VW parts - suspension is probably regarded as a consumable and you wouldn't expect VW to pay for any replacements but they might still use it as an excuse. What about non-original wheels - the list could go on! When I bought my All In plans (the van is now too old to renew), I actually had a email from VW confirming that I would be OK in the event of a claim for a converted van with changed wheels and suspension so long as any claim wasn't connected. Mind you, when I did finally need the All In policy to sort out my adblue related issues, they failed miserably when the policy was alive and gave me two fingers once it had expired - I could have fought them over it but in the end decided that it just wasn't worth the agg. I appreciate that there are some good news stories out there about VW warranties and I'm happy for them (ie. @Dellmassive did particularly well) but I suspect that was down to the quality of the dealer as much as anything else. In my case, In my experience, VW Swindon were a total and utter waste of rations.

That's reassuring to hear.

“Systems in your vehicle that matter most” from the essential cover doesn’t seem to include the braking system which you need the standard or higher for coverage 😅

Just currently looking at options and for the extended warranty. I’m about to pick up a 66 Caravelle….204PS DSG so thinking a VW warranty would be well worth it. The Essentials is coming out at £58pm or £698 for the year. As it covers engine and gearbox which are the items I’m most nervous about, I’ll go down this route I think as the van wouldn’t be eligible for the All In plan

I know the All-in has had Black Friday deals, and I think also summer deals, does anyone know if the Service Plan or the Extended Warranty gets the same?

The service plan is easy to postpone so I can wait till November.

Warranty not so much.

Last November they had an offer of a free upgrade from Service to Service Plus (including fuel and air filters).
They had offers available in November 2023 and 2020 when I purchased previous plans.
