Hope you dont mind my indulging in sharing how I got to finally owning a Transporter.

It all started with an 8v Mk2 digifant Golf GTi, which I got a bit carried away with. Including full windows out respray in Tornado red, leather retrim. etc etc.


My wife was running a Mk1 Golf Driver. I had a mate who was the foreman at the local VW dealership so lots of things got sorted.



THis was replaced by a Polo GT and then a few other Polos. My old Bandit parked behind.



My GTi was replaced by a LHD supercharged G60



Years later I bought an old and rare 16v Polo, a great fun little drive.



It was replaced by a Golf 2.8 V6 4 motion

Your right it is a totally different animal. But I guess because I started my driving career as a van driver, I have just taken to it again. I like the raised driving position, and because I was lucky to get the 150bhp I at least have a bit of go too

Back in 1987ish my first car was a VW Beetle. Seen here before I changed the wheels, dropped the suspension etc.


Now I run a T6.
